Wolf, nice looking web. I agree with you on the 4x4 idea, I also have a 2wd that I am modifing for off road use. And like you said, its what I got. I put on a 3" body lift, and you can see a major difference in height. I will be adding some 31x10.50 15's next month.

hey thanks... yeah i need to lift my truck soon... im finding more and more problems with the lift im designing... maybe im too much of a stickler for wanting it done right but i dont want my front end to drop 6 inches suddenly when im bouncing around offroad... i have the 31x10.5x15's on and well everything is fine really no rubbing on turns but when i bounce around the top of my tires hit the top of the wheel well... but hey my bump stops still look good hehe ;) im starting to think about the fabtech 2 inch for now.. because it looks like it might be a while until i get my design correct.. plus that would level out my truck cause my front end is 2 inches lower... right now im just debating if i want to design a lift like i was think... or doing a solid axle conversion upfront and making it 4x4... or maybe trying to design a wishbone suspension so i can do a prerunner style thing... the prerunner style suspension would feel alot better when my truck makes those 5' jumps... (hrmmm i think thats why my catalitic converter is messed up and rattling) what can i say i have a need for speed and some of those "bumps" really launch ya at 60 ;)

My cat converter rattles too. I have a friend with a 99 5.2 and his rattles also, but I dont think its from off roading. We go often too, but we dont hit the jumps like you do! Most of our fun is hittin' the huge mud holes and trying not to get stuck. I thought about the solid axle swap, but I think I am gonna look for a used 5.2 or 5.9 first. Plus thats a lot of work, and money as well! I want to get the fabtech 3" susp lift. I've seen some great looking 2wd here, with both the 3" body and 3" susp lift. I am really going for more of the prerunner look my self. Its all fun either way you do it though!

yeah the jumps are kinda crazy... did them on accedent the first few times then i started liking it... but i try to be really careful because im guessing the passenger side is a bit heaver because the springs dont pop it up as much ive noticed because when im in the air and coming down the passenger side is the first to start droping so im not level in the air so thats telling me that the passenger side isnt pushed up with as much force... but the 3" lift i would love! but unfortunatly i dont have that kinda money.... 300 looks good to me tho ;)
and i would hit some mudholes and get myself stuck but out here we dont get mud =(... i think ill hit some when i get back to A&M tho... i think im going to join the Texas A&M Offroad Club but im not totaly sure... but there are two chicks in there with monster jeeps.. and they are really hot and their rigs are always caked with mud... my kinda woman! ;)

Yeah, I am trying to get my wife into off roading, also trying to get her to trade in the van for something else, 4x4, maybe another dakota. She loves going through the mud with me. I was stationed out in Texas for a few years, and in central texas it rains like a sob! I kinda miss texas a little, great places to go off road there!

yeah i know what you mean about the rain in centeral texas... A&M is around austin its more east texas but close enough... i just dont know where to go offroading around there yet... but i wana get my truck all nice a messy and put some pics up on the web.... the dirt here is challenging in some places specialy if you dont know how to drive in soft sand but it does start to get boring because its all the same... there is rock crawling around here(not much tho because the mountains around here aint the kind you go crawling on execpt in las crusis NM and thats only 30 minutes away) but i dont have the money or right kinda truck to even think about that...
