From my experience, these tires hold up very well. I am also very biased with BFG tires, hehe. I've owned about 4 sets of the Muds and 3 sets of All Terrains with both Jeeps and trucks. The Muds don't last as long as the A/T's, but I usually get between 30-50,000 miles depending on how many trips I take a year, so you get your moneys worth. I've had 27 nails in one tire, a metal rod in another, and plenty on sidewall damage in the past years, and the tires hold up GREAT!! The Muds are noisier than the A/Ts but with my radio and exhuast... you can't hear them at all. The newer KO's are quieter than the older BFGs, so that helped.

There are many brands to choose from and most are good, but at least you know (from me anyway) that BFGs will be good too!

Good luck in your search!

I am running the bfg's now and my comments are all positive except for tire wear. I had them for 2k miles so far and they show excessive wear, mostly because they are soft rubber tires. I did some rock climbing and it tore at them a little. As for highway driving, it seems as if i am running street tires. Great overall, and excellent off road!

I've had the new BFG Mud K/M for about a year now. I love them. Been in the snow, mud and sand with no problems at all. I just drove 110 miles (one way)going 70-75 mph to Pismo Beach last weekend, air down the tires to 15 pounds and spent the day playing in the dunes. For Mud tires they performed better than I expected. Yeah, they are a little louder on the road than A/T but, I like the sound now. I have around 12,000 miles on the tires now. I can’t see any noticeable wear. When I went out looking for tires I wanted an aggressive looking tire on my truck. My friends who are in a Jeep Club, they all run BFG MUD on their Jeeps. They are also an excellent tire for rock crawling .

I don't like 'em in the sand -- the tread is a little too aggressive. They do alright, but a more "all-terrain" style would be preferred for better floatation.

BFG does make one heck of a good product! The MT's have held up very well on road. 30k miles, plenty of tread left, and no uneven wear.

What's really goin' on?

I have had three sets of 33x12.50x16.5 BFG MTs. The first set I got 51,000, the second 50,000, and now I am on my third and they have 49,000. They have about 1/4" tread left. I will run them about three to four more months and then buy another set just like them. They are great in any situation your in. The key to long life is ratation. I rotate mine every five thousand miles and they really don't make much noise. They are really great in sand if you let your pressure down to 15-18 psi. Just don't take off spinning in loose sand, just lide with any MT tire. BFG is the only tire I will buy.
