Yo, i took my dakota to Firestone/Bridgestone to get some 33 inch dueler MT's.....they REFUSED to give me anything bigger than the stock size for a 2wd dakota. I mean, i told them it'd fit on my 15x8 for sure and i am willing to take the risk. They still refused saying it won't fit on my rim, and it'd mess up the speedometer, odometer, and gear ratio. I'm aware of those risks, but i still want to go big. Hey tallquad, did you have any trouble getting 33's? I am close to getting the new BFG MT's at 33x12.5 but the cost is floating around $800. eek

Do you have a friend with a pickup? Take all the wheels off, throw them in the back of your friends truck, then make the bastards mount the new skins. If they ask what they came off of, tell them a Unimog. :)

If they don't want to sell you tires, let them know you'll take your money elsewhere and tell all your friends.

Yeah, if you can't get the bastards to put them on, bring them off the truck! I did that anyways because I knew I was going to have to trim at home, but they would have done it either way. In any case, I KNOW you can find somebody do get those meats on.

Go somewhere else and get them. Then go back to the first place and show them how they just lost an $800 sale. What idiots!

Got my Goodyear Wrangler MT's....33x12.5 R15. Just a tad bit rubbing on the rear fenderwalls. I will chop off like 2 inches of that plastic and it should be fine :) Email me for pix :)

They are pretty nice. I got alot of stares on the 2 min ride home. Plus they are quiet as hell, unlike my dueler MT's. Ride is a bit rough, but i expected that.

You know, I had the same problem w/ my local Fireblown too. They refused to even quote me tires that were not stock for my old Exploder. Bout Pi$$ed me off. Oh well, I went and got some BFG Mud Terrains, and loved them. Just to answer your previous question to Tallquad, BFG M/T's are awsome. Just a little footnote for when you may want to consider them again.

Oh, yeah, shoot me a link to the pics, or email them to me... MoparToYa@hotmail.com

Thanks.

One suggestion, get some fender flares. They add a lot to the look of the truck!

I second the fender flares! They do look great and they help a little with rocks.

I have taken my truck off-road a few times and love it! I went up a really steep hill that only 4x4's were making up and I was able to get up it no problem... well, almost. The BFG muds are great. Mix that with a 3.92 LSD and you've got a great 2wd truck!

Yo, bad news, had to ditch the 33's. They just rubbed too much and were way too heavy for the suspension. The ride was awful as well. So i took em back and got a stack of 31 bfg's..just ya your's tallquad. They run great and look just as good as the 33's. One question tallquad, do ya got a locker? If you do, it would take that "almost" and turn it into "easily". :)

Why don't ya get powertrax no-slip? It works great, and i don't even know it's there. Improves gas mileage and tire wear as well. Awesome locker.

I second the no-slip. I've had mine in for 2 weeks and it's been much better than I expected. I only notice it's there when im looking for it. I bought mine from Macromotive.com and after Powertrax drop-shipped the wrong part, both Macromotive and Powertrax provided great customer service and powertrax even provided next day (Saturday) air service on the replacement.

Im running 32x11.5 BFG A/T's without a lift. Id like to give a set of Dirt Grip 33's a try, but that all depends on Rancho getting their act together. (There is no way in hell Truckin will ever get my money!)Since I just redesigned my tailpipes at Hollister Hills this past weekend, Im really hopen that they get that lift out soon!

I see you are using your stock rims. I thought you could not do that with a Fabtech lift. Are you using wheel spacer? If you are, where did you get them?
Thanks

Yeah i'm using my stock's with 2 inch wheel spacers. I don't quite remember where i bought them but they are available at many off-road stores and on-line sites. I was gonna get rims but i kinda liked the stock ones so i grabbed 2 sets of spacers and it works perfect. Plus the agressive looks as well is a nice addition :)I found some old receipts and i bought it from AIM industries, back during the time their old site was up. I did some search and found what i believe is the same:
