yes, get the body lift before you do the exhaust. i had flowmaster dual exhaust put on my dakota before i got my body lift. once i got the lift put on and had the rear bumper moved up, it looked stupid because the tailpipes were hanging down. of course, this is because i had the exhaust piping custom done. if you're just going to order an exhaust kit, then it doesn't matter when you put it on. either way, the tail pipe will still be hanging in the same spot, but after the lift is on it'll look lower because the body will be up higher. in my opinion, i'd wait til after you put the body lift on and then have a shop do some custom pipe bending so you can have the pipe up as close to the body as possible. if it's hanging down lower, there's a better chance it could get crunched on a rock or something.

I have single in dual out exhaust right now...no body/suspension lift. My question is... if I get a 3"body or suspension lift will I be able and what will the setup be on if I wanted straight duals from the headers back .....Does anyone have this setup? How are the mufflers...side by side at a 90 degree angle or on top of each other at a 180 degree angle? I have a 97 5.2 CC Edelbrock headers and a K&N FIPK. I need to get rid of that Y-Pipe and put some straight duals on it....

what were you planning on doing with the gas tank that takes up the passenger side under carriage?

Yeah...thats definitly the trouble. I was thinking with a body lift maybe i would have the room to run both pipes on the same side, either side by side or most likely on top of each other. I was hoping someone already had the setup and could give me a little insight. The guy that bent my single in dual out pies said he could make the pipes from the headers back on the same side (if there was enough room).....just trying to find out if its possible with a 3" body lift

i don't see why there would be a problem. when i installed my exhaust there was plenty of room for another 3" pipe. it would definately have to be custom bent but possible.
