Ok I installed the PA lift and I have a few questions for you old timers....
1) does anyone now have an anoying clunk in the steering column now?
2) How did you get the rear bumper to look half way decent
3) did you take your truck to a muffler shop to tuck the tailpipe up under the body? It looks awful now.
4) what were some of the homebrew Gap Guard solutions?

At this point I am not so sure I will keep the lift on. The frame exposure is just plain ugly.

1) I do on my truck but not on something w/ the body lift. Try tightening up the linkage.

2) Whats wrong w/ the rear bumper?

3) Yes take your truck to a muffler place and have them bend it up.

4) Can't remember.

Hey Carib use search feature. There are some older posts that address the gap guard issue

1) The clunking sound in the steering is the bolt head form the added linkage rubbing against the frame. Grind the frame a little and it goes away.

2) The bumper should look normal. Hold the bumper in place where it looks good then tighten the bolts/nuts REALLY tight. (helps with two people)

3) I put a Flowmaster on and at the same time turned the pipe to tuck-in more. Looks much better now and you can probably do the same with the stock muffler (although thats no fun!)

4) Gap gaurds... don't have any yet. Like Dodster said, there are some great solutions on this board!

Give the lift a chance... its really not that bad once you get some minor bugs fixed. :-)

i used that black plastic yard+garnden trim, they sell at walmart,$5 for 10 feet, its like 4 inch wide, and just used self tapping screws and than hit it all with some under coat, get some 305/70/16s and you may not need gap covers.

Got the exhaust situation under control...for 5 bucks they cut and rewelded my GIBSON (TAllQUAD) hahha exhaust hangers...plus I removed one of the u clamps and turned the pipe up a little... You guys dont't think that will affect my muffler bearings do you? I still do not like the visibilty of the frame..I will straighten out the bumper today..I was tired and it was dark out so....I'll get a buddy to help me out....I need some nerf bars to try and cover the frame up. lets see if the lift grows on me.

Now if PA would make some nerfs that mounted to the frame and covered some of it, they'd have an awesome package!!!

You could order Manik step bars and modify them to cover up that unsightly frame like I did:) Rancho also makes frame mounted step bars that you should be able to modify for a body lift.

Flowmaster cat back, Air Raid w/homemade TB connect, Poweraid TB Spacer, Splitfire Plugs
3 inch body and 1.5 Block Lift, 305 70-16 X-Terrains on AR Terons
