Subject: 4x4 body lift on a 4x2?
IP: Logged

Message:
hey all,
i've got a '93 2wd dakota (still kicking myself for not getting a 4x4) and have noticed that it seems the only body lifts for them are for 4x4's. what is different about the 4x4 and 4x2 bodies? i'm just wondering if it would be possible for me to adapt one for 2wd, and if its possible, how much work would it require? this is all just hypothetical, as i'm not even sure if i really NEED a body lift.
anyway, thanks in advance

Yo man, if you look at modern lifts kits for newer trucks, you will notice they are compatable for 2wd/4wd models. So i am assuming that it's possible to fit one from a 4wd kit on yours. Check with a professional for their opinion as well.

Yeah, I did it on my dak. Just get a metal rod and bolt it in the steering linkage. All it is is an extension. the 4x4s have a longer shaft, us 2wd guys gotta extend ours. Go for it.
