This isn`t a lifted question , but , I thought I`d have better luck here with my question.
I know you did the 8in. sub install awhile back and was just wondering if your still as happy with it today ? Is there anything you would do different next time?
I`m planning on doing something similar in the near future and would appreciate any/all comments.
Thanks,
Scott

Funny you should ask... I'm getting ready to change my set-up (again). I WAS really impressed with the 8" sub I had, but the bass bug got to me and I just threw in a 12" sub behind the driver seat a while ago. Now I'm thinking of putting the 8" back along with another one so I can hide the subs. I love the sound of the 12" but I hate having a random "box" in the back seat (on the floor w/rear seat down). I guess I want it all... great bass and lots of space!

So now that I've confused you... ;-) I am basically figuring out yet another way to get great sound and hide the sub(s). If you love lots of bass, the 8's no good... but for the money and the look the 8" really makes the Infinity system sound complete. If you have any specific questions I'd be glad to help.

Thanks for the info. I agree with you I`d love to have two 15s in the back for the sound , but, I don`t like the way they would look , or the room they would take up.
I`m pretty sure I can live with an 8 or two.
Is there enough room behind the "60" part of the seat for 2-8s or should I just make two boxes , 1 behind each seat?
I never put the seats "up" anyway , I don`t think it saves any room and I have a booster seat for my 4yr old on the pass. side that is always in.
Thanks again.

P.S. Did the 12 overpower the rest of the stock system , or was it still fairly balanced?

Scott

The 12 sounds REALLY good and doesn't over power the stock system. I wish the 8 would sound this way then the setup would be perfect! I haven't looked very hard behind the 60 seat but my guess would be that 2 8's should fit OR maybe a 10 with a slim wide box. What I'll probably do is put my 8 back in the 40 side and then add an 8 or 10 on the 60 side. Either way, (2)8's OR (1)8 + (1)10 should sound good enough... ya think?!

Maybe I should check out the Audio forum to see if anyone has fit a 10" so I don't waste my time. :-)

Thanks again! I`ve been checking the audio forum and the only other solution seems to be adding an extension to the center console ,that doubles as a sub box :(
That`s not going to work for me I`m afraid , as I need all of my room back there.
Guess I`ll probably go with two 8`s , one behind each seat.
Appreciate your time.

Most likely its the bump stops. Mine is much more noisy than the stock system. I took my truck off-road the other weekend and it did REALLY well, I was suprised at how well the suspension works, its just those damn bump stops that keep us from getting even better articulation... well that and the fact the our trucks are lifted higher than its designed to be!! hehe... :-)

One of these weekends I'm going to take off the rubber stoppers and see how close the a-arms get to the spring housing. Maybe help get rid of the hard "thump/clunking" sound.
