OK…Don’t laugh!!!! This is serious!!!

From my calculations, it is approximately 11½ inches from the front bumper mounts to the bottom of the bumper w/ the 3” PA Body lift installed.

Also it is approx. 8½ inches from the mount to the TOP of the rear of bumper.

Could we bend the front bumper mount spacers provided w/ the Perf. Acc. 3” lift to provide some additional clearance?

We have a radius of 11½ or a diameter of approx. 23 inches. From my kindergarten math class, I know that the circumference of a circle is 2(pi)r . Well, 2 x (pi) = approx. 6.28……….that times 11.5 (the radius) = 72.22 So the circumference of our 360º circle is 72.22 inches. If you divided 72.22 inches by 360º, you get approx. .2 inches per degree. So if you bent your Perf. Acc. provided bumper spacer 5 degrees, you should get an additional 1 inch clearance between your tire and the bottom of the front bumper, no????
Now to figure out how the upper part of the bumper would look, you use a radius of 8½ inches. 2 x 3.14 x 8½ = 53.4. 53.45 inches in circumference divided by 360º = .1483 inches per degree. If you bend your bracket 5 degrees to get your 1 inch clearance at the bottom, you will change your spacing at the top of the rear of your bumper approx. a 3/4 of an inch. This might save you from trimming your front bumper fascia.

Oh Yeah…don’t forget to pull the new spacer brackets AND the bumper as far forward as possible during the lift install!!!! Might gain you ½ inch of spacing for nuthin!!!

Or put an additional 1/4 or 1/2 inch spacer under the 3 incher. or drill the spacers to be able to pull the bumper MORE forward. Any of these things will help minimize the trimming of the front bumper.

Let us know how these tips work for you!!! Thanks!!

Now, if you could only figure out how to do that with the rear part of the wheel well... we'd be set!! My front bumper isn't a problem (after I hacked it) so I guess I'm still figuring out how to gain that extra inch behind the tire... So then Pie = off-roading?!?!?

I do not have a lift yet, but I welded an extension to the mounts so I could clear 32's with new rims. It was pretty easy, and if you look at my pics you can tell it does not look bad.

bjlindsey... for the bumper.. are you just trying to get 1" more clearance for the front part of the front tires? or getting more ground clearance?

More tire clearance at the front. To keep from trimming the front bumper.
