Subject: Perf. Access. Lift ?'s

I got my lift kit in today for my 2001 Ext Cab. Is the 2 overload spacers the only things to weld when installing the kit? I have an auto transmission so and electronic transfer case so I dont think I will have to weld any linkage. Any additional info is appreciated

Most people don't even add those spacers unless you really think you'll need them. If you already have a welder go for it, but don't spend extra money to add them on, IMO. :- )

Also, I noticed that you really don't need to take the gas filler hose off to lift, just watch if VERY carefully, this should save you some time.

no linkage to weld, don't have to drop t-case skid plate, no need to disconnect gas filler tube...you MAY be able to trim the radiator shroud w/o removing it. Pull bumper and new spacer brackets ALL the way forward when reassembling...work fast w/ the loctite...it dries fast and make finger tightening tougher if you have 2 guys, you can just lift bed instead of jacking it up to put spacers in...if you can, find a tool to stick up thru all parts to line up spacers/mounts (long screwdriver, etc.) Put clear corners on while front bumper is off ;] you really only need to remove left front wheel to get better access to steering and brakes...no real need to even put the back on stands...plenty of room to work under there. Hope this helps!!
