Subject: Rear Shackle modification
IP: Logged

Message:
Hi Everyone,

Tried this on the Off Road board with no success...after all that torsion bar talk I thought maybe someone would have an opinion on this one...

On my 88' 4x4 the rear leaf spring shackles hinge upward rather than downward as they do on say...a jeep. I'm trying to figure out the best way to lift the rear end and avoid things like excess axle wrap from blocks, or stiffness and maybe loss of articulation with add-a-leaf. So, I've wondered can the shackle be modified so that the leaf attaches below it rather than above? This could give about 1-2" of lift in the rear with no blocks.

Anyone tried this?
