i go offroading a lot, and i use 4 wheel drive all the time. i have a 2001 V8 4x4, with 3 inch body lift and 33 inch yokahamas. but have any of you had a problem with the 4 wheel drive? my truck will not stay in 4 wheel low, it will just pop out all of the time. any help?

I'm not too familiar with the third gen trucks, but if you have a manual shifter for the transfer case it could be that you no longer have a long enough hole in the floor to sweep the shifter all the way back and forth now that you have a body lift. If so, you may need to cut out the hole alittle larger.

I tend to agree with Moser but i have had a clutch/Tranny mechanic tell me that the shift boot will bunch up and spit it out of gear when you have a bodylift,and the shifter length is not quite right.

I'm not positive but I'm pretty sure in 01 they went to the switch for the 4wd? Like I said I could be wrong but I think it's the same switch as the auto's.

if you have a manualy shifted t-case get a hanes book and adjust the shift lever fixed it for me

if you have electric shift I don't know what to tell you

if it has the 5.9 it will look like the ram setup, manual. when my 3in b-lift was installed on my 99 the linkage to the t-case had to be extended. But who knows he won't reply with anymore info.
