SuperBee: seeing is how i dont know how your grill guard mounts i can only say what i know. if the guard mounts to the bumper then you might not have a problem with the body lift unless the relocation brackets are real weak which they shouldnt be cause they are used to mount somthin that keeps you safe in an acident. walt has that big range rover guard on his truck with a 3in body and it looks sturdy and cool. but if the guard mounts to the frame then you would probably have to make some big a$$ custom mounts or somthin. hope this helps. later

Man, I feel like a new truck. My 90' had 85,000 on it when it bought it, now, 2 years later, has 105,000. But I am pissed off with this wimpy assed 3.9L. Man, it has no power. Now in FLA, its hotter than hell. So I run AC all the time. But my HP is cut in half with the AC on so what can I do to compensate for the power loss? Buy a Super Charger? haha. What about an under drive pulley? Could I get one that would only effect my AC? I have a 1,000 watt stereo system and cant take a loss in alternater recharging. Please help.

Super Bee, Get those General MTs. They look sweet. I have wanted them for some time. I run the ever scarry Firestone wilderness Ats!?! Have had no problems but still watch them closely. I want the Nittos new tires with AT lugs. Or the Pernilli Dirt Grips. They look mean but are very $$$. So we will see.

How many times have you guys had to replace the weak, cheap, lame, plastic CV boot on your front suspension? This is now about my 3rd time on one of my axles, and it sucks! I know a guy in Idaho who removed the plastic boots and replaced them with a homemade leather boot. I dont think he's had any problems with them since. Sounds like a good idea to me, as now my driver side needs replacing again. I love IFS suspension, but I think manufacturers could design a stronger, longer lasting type than what we have on our trucks.

Dang yall, I have never had a problem with mine being broken. Maybe I should check it out. Later of course...
My mustang is in the shop. Went in for a heat bypass hose causing overheating. Came out with a serious brake problem. Went to drive it home, and had NO brakes! Went back and they did not bleed them after removing a breakline. Wont go there again. Then yesterday, the starter quit on me. Had to push start it to get home. They put a hex on it there man.
Then my/family car, a 98 Chrysler Concord, went in the shop for a oil change. Came out with a so called "Craked valve cover". Dont know about it either. I looked and saw no oil or anything. How the hell do you crack a valve cover anyway? It also like a $500 part! Glad my family pays for that cars repair. We have 4 cars, 2 are out for the count. Sucks really bad!!!!!!!!!!

and Joe, you should not have any boots to go bad, the ones we have problems are on the front driveshaft, four of them, so you dont need to worry

OK I had a productive Saturday morning. I installed some new AutoLite spark plugs today, gapped to .55. Also put in a new NASCAR performance cap & rotor from Checker auto parts. I had about 20-30,000 miles on all of that, so I think it was about time. The plugs looked great, just a small amount of fouling on there. I was also low on power steering fluid, so topped that off. I also saw that I was a little low on my brake master cylinder fluid. Filled that up too, but I wonder if I'm leaking a little bit in there, as it was slightly wet...??? hmmm....

My heat shield has been worn out and just dangling around above my muffler. So I just cut that off, too, and now no more squeaks. Next weekend I might replace the coolant thermostat and the sensor, depending on time and money, of course.

Tiger, any difference with the new cap and rotor? I am thinking about replacing mine. I have no idea how long they have been in use so I cant tell you much. My truck runs rough at very low idles. Like below 1000. Mainly when I slow down for red lights, stop signs etc. But it purs like a kitten when moving. But sputters when I am stopping. Does this sound like electrical/ignition problems, or like dirty injectors/TB? Thanks. Hoping maybe new cap/rotor would fix.

Well I would definitely agree to get a new cap/rotor. I was noticing the past few months that my truck was, VERY SLOWLY, losing some performance that it used to have. I couldnt figure it out, so I decided to give it a general "tune-up" with the plugs, cap, and rotor. It worked! Awesome! Now I'm back to full performance. And for only about $21, not a bad investment.

Plugs - $6.00
Cap - $3
Rotor - $12.00

The performance cap/rotor I got from AutoZone did not work, and did not even fit. I was extremely disappointed. So I went to Checker and theirs fit right on with no problems. They have OEM replacement cap/rotors but I spent the xtra cash for the Nascar performance one. Glad I did. This will help your truck for sure, and if you dont know when the last time it was replaced, I would replace it, so you know. Cheap fix for sure.

Thanks Tiger, Ill get into that real soon. I have a few crazy days this week but I am going to replace those cap and rotor. I have new plugs as of a couple months ago. I gapped mine to 0.055 but it seemed to be too much. But the hesitation could have been from the old cap/rotor. So Ill get those and then try the larger gap again. Hope it works. Thanks for the help.

Yeah, those Nascar Select caps and rotors are great. They have brass contacts, so they don't corrode as fast. I would definitely recommend them.

I had my CV boots go out, too. I just drove it until it blew the bearings, and replaced the entire half-shaft instead of replacing the boots. The boots haven't been a problem since.

Tiger, I got a set from Autozone. Did not realize that you had said it did not fit until now. Is a set from Conrad Ind. The cap is red and seems to be very sterdy. Nice brass connectors etc. Does this sound like what you had bought too? I asked the guy at Autozone about the NASCAR set. He said they only had this one. Think Pep Boyz would have it? What about NAPA? I paid $11 for this red set. Thanks for the help.

Yes Joe that is the red cap/rotor that I bought, from Conrad and from AutoZone. It only takes about 5 mintues to take off your plugs and put them in their proper order on top of the new cap, and then put the new cap on there. Maybe it will fit for you. Actually, it did fit I guess, as I was able to get the clamp things on there and a VERY tight fit. Anyways, the truck would not start after I installed that cap/rotor set. In fact, I couldnt get any spark at all, and it sounded terrible. I thought I put the plugs on in the wrong order, but I double checked them and they were correct.

So I took back that cap/rotor set back to AutoZone and went to Checker/Schucks/Kragen whatever you call them in Florida. They have the nascar set that Superbee and I are using.

Try it first, maybe it will work for you. Let us know how it works.

I have 31" tires, and I have a 2" body lift and a 1.5" torsion bar lift. Even doing that has barely made enough room for me. I still had to take a hammer to some of the body panel on the front sides to increase my tire's radius in the turning.

I also have been thinking about a nice, heavy duty floor mat inside the cockpit. Has anyone installed a floor mat before??? Where do I buy one, how much, are they any good?
