My Dad and I fixed my parking brake today. Some of the areas going back into the rear wheels have rusted and come loose a little, and I replaced a few things here and there. Now my "BRAKE" light is no longer on now. Everything should be up to par now...I hope...

My Dad taught me to put a little oil inside the lug nuts before you screw them back on. Sure helped and should prevent some freeze up inside there, too.

Hey yall, back from my 2 day trip to sign my next year away. Got a year lease for an apartment near the Univ of Fla campus, where I am going next semi. Cant wait. It will be fun.

About Trucks, whats new guys? I am thinking about looking into modifying my floor panels so I can cut alittle of the sheet metal away to clear bigger tires with no more lift. With the fender flairs, I can hide the cut pretty well. What do you think.
Also, I want 2 seperate seats in my truck. Not the 40/60 bench. However, my interior in nearly perfect and I dont want to ditch my nice seats now. I was thinking of taking my drivers seat (the 60% side) and cutting iff the right side ( the certer (20% part) and having 2 seat with a custom center consule between to 40/40 seats. What do ya think. Is it possible?
Thanks for the info. always looking for the next project too!

Another problem I found is when your girlfriend is with ya. I drive 1 of 4 cars most of the time. Mustang GT has buckets. Not good for having fun with you woman in the car. So there are advantages to the full bench seat.
Joe E.
In my truck, I have a sub box in the back with 2 12 in er in it. So only 1 person with me too, in the passengers seat!

I run a Flowmaster system. Its sounded pretty good at first. Not loud but you could tell a difference. But the best change came after I removed the CAT and installed headers. It really opened up my flowmaster. Right after in did those mods, I had a hard time keeping my foot off the gas. It sounds so cool.

A board for gen I and II Dakotas? Great Idea! I have an '89 Dakota Sport V6 4x4, and I wouldn't trade it for anything! Some guy crashed into it after I had it a month, so his insurance company got to replace the entire bed, tailgate, rear bumper, and repaint the whole thing. It is cherry, and it has 210,000 miles on it! I wonder how well the gen III's will be runnin' at that milage.

Hey, I got a question. Has anyone considered powdercoating their wheels? I have the stock five-spoke 15" steel wheels, and the chrome has flaked off and gotten scratched. I was thinking about powdercoating them gray, but I am not sure if it will work. Any thoughts?

I'm not certain that those OEM wheels will stand the intense heat of 400 degrees in the oven for powdercoating. But I could be wrong. It would probably be a wiser investment to just get a new set of rims!

with all the stuff i have got into into it, i almost have a new drivetrain, no engine rebuild, and new exhaust, muffler and cat, new radiator, roters turned, plugs/wires/dist cap/rotor, rear brakes, front brakes, bled system, new tranny fluid and filter, now needs MORE work cuz its leakin tranny fluid to the pint you cant drive it and will hopefully soon be fixed, new front driveshaft on driverside, prolly a new PCV valve tomorrow, and too much other stuff im not going to list cuz i dont have the time

BUT I LOVE MY DAK AND WONT TRADE IT FOR ANYTHING

never had any HUGE problems with it, nothing hrowing under $200 at each time something on the bad end happens wont fix,

anyway, enough b*tching from me
ill be happier when shes fixed

oh im up to 14-15.7

lowest=7*
highest 15.7

*marking snowmobile trails for 8 hours, 8 hours running and only 20 miles, hhhmmmmm do the math

Yeah I got Cruise control. But I dont use it anymore since the big tires. It constantly shifts down, revs up to 3500-4000 and back into high gear. All the time and it get annoying.
It is located on the windshield wiper level. On the left side of the steering colomn. On the end, you have the dial you turn front to back to start the wipers. Push it squirt fluid. Sounds sick dont it. But on the top side of the lever, near the end, is a slide button. its only about 2 inches long. Thats that.
I think I still get about 13 mpg. But I screw around way too much. I cant help it.
At my 4x4 shop, I saw a Ramext cab 4x4 with a 5in superlift/3in body running 37x13.50 or something. It looked bad azz. I almost ran into the guy ahead of me. Damn I want big tires!

Yeah, I'm here. Just don't get on the internet enough lately. Dial-ups just pi$$ me off!

I hear you about the temperature, TigerDak. I didn't think of that. I thought about getting new wheels, but I haven't found any that I like. I also am kind of a purist about keeping the exterior as stock as possible, including the wheels. Maybe I should re-chrome them instead?

Oh yeah, 15.5-15.7 mpg. Wish it were higher, but oh well, it's a Dak!

The highest mpg's I have ever gotten was 18.75. This was before the lift, 31" tires. And my stock tires were almost bald. I had fresh oil in the engine and my current mods.

Spyder if you want, you can get some new wheels and tires put on your truck, and just keep your OEM wheels in storage and put them on whenever you want the stock look or to keep the truck in original condition. I used the think I would always keep and enjoy the stock wheels, but once I got some new aluminum fancy wheels, I just had the tire shop throw the old ones away! LOL!

Are you guys running synthetic oils either in the engine or the differentials?
