How do larger tires affect the power that is transfered to the ground? I currently have 235/75-15 and I,m thinking about going with 31x10.5 and possibly a 2'' lift, how much larger are the 31's and will they rub?

You will effectively raise your gearing by about 6% and lose about the same in torque to the wheels. Also the increase in weight will have a small affect as well. The 31" tires are about 2" taller and 1" wider. Rubbing will depend on what year of truck, 4wd or 2wd, and whether or not you are using stock offset wheels. If you are using stock wheels on a 4wd you should be fine. Some guys say the 31's just touch the front of the frame rails at full lock. This was the case with my '92, but it was so minor that I didn't even realize that they rubbed until I was later working on the truck and saw the small rub mark. This was with no lift of any kind.
