Subject: Torsion bars and body lift!!!

I tried to lift the front of my truck to level it out. It looks to much like a 2wd! I tried to crank up the torsion bars and the bolt wouldn't move up or down, I did spray some chain lube on it too. Any sugestions? Also if I get a 3 inch body lift, what is the biggest tire I can get on there (35 inch maybe) and also if i figure out the torsion bar thing and raise the front say 1 inch, then would I be able to get a 35 inch tall tire or what is the max size I should go to.

Body lift I'd go with 33's at most...other than someone around here has a body lift running 34's but they're only 10.5's. The 33x12.5's look really good but as far as 35's I'm thinking not...there's just not enough space unless u want to hack away. Up to you...maybe with a suspension lift too, u can go 35's. I'm running 32's with my torsion bars cranked on bodylift. Wish I would've waited for the 33's

that other someone would be me, i got torsion bars maxxed out and 3 inch body lift. im running 34x10.50 super swamper LTB's on 15x8 procomp extreme 1069's. the 10.50's look fine with me, dont look skinny at all, hell they stick out almost 2 inches from the fender, but as for 35's nope not without alot of cuttin, i had to cut some on my inner fender well to keep from rubbing while wheeling, other than that everything is good, hope it works out for ya though, i cant wait to get to my truck, im coming home after a year in iraq on thurs. take it easy

Got a couple new questions to throw out:

1. I plan on putting a body lift on my truck. Apon doing this I also plan on cranking the torsion bars, and putting on 33's. Anyway...my question is this: When I stick on 33's im gona havta get new gears right? 4.10 is what ive seen on most posts.

2. If it turns out I do need new gears to accompany the 33's,what will happen if I just leave the gears alone and dont change them. By putting more stress on the tranny, will it just make me go slower? or will it shorten its lifespan?

Thx

thx soldier boy...glad at least somebody answered my question. However, Im still wondering if the bigger tires without new gears will lessen the life of my transmission. Thx

yea man, at first mine was shifting back and forth alot, i thought it was from the tires, but come to find out it was the throttle sensor. they got that fixed and now it does just fine, i think it will be alright, there is alot of people with 33's on theres, aint never really heard nobody having much tranny trouble

ive messed with alot of mopars from 1 ton dullies to my 04 durango im messing with now.i would get index keys to lift torson bars cranking up bolts will only work so long and will eventually sag down.they are only so strong if you put more stress on them they will respond by going back down.as far as super swamper sizes go whats on side of tire doesnt actually mean thats is its true size so check web spec page of maker of tire.interco makes swampers and actual size of tire can surprise you.that 34 might be as tall as some of their 35s also bias vs radiel can be size difference.trust me you can get 35s on a dakota.i ran 36 14.5 on my 3/4 ton with no lift just moified rear of fender and added fender flare and it looked great grab saw and go to town.

mopars hit most of time on full turn on the outside edge of tire remove that part of the car and fab it back in if you actually play with it its not that hard.trust me im elecrical enginer not a fab specialist and i thought it was easy.
