Subject: Superchip and tire size
IP: Logged

Message:
I have a 2002 QC 4x4 with 265/70-16 and will be replacing tires after i finish the body lift. The tech guy at SC said to measure the tire from ground up. And set the size in the programmer. By the way he said does not matter if measuring frount or rear ??go figure! Is he correct or do you use the diameter?

Thanks

The actual size (diameter) of the tire when it's loaded is about 1" less than the calculated or unloaded measurement. This then turns out to be the correct size to put into the programmer.

Front or back tire? It shouldn't matter as long as they are the same tire. If not, measure the rear because that's what drives the speedo/odo.
