I'd like a comparison of doing a 2" lift using a coil spacer -vs- the 3" Fabtech kit that comes with new coils and control arms.

How do the rides compare? Have you experienced any problems with either type of lift?

I'd also be interested to hear from anyone that's used the 3" fabtech lift with a coil spacer to get 5" of lift.

That point is argued pretty throughly in this thread...

http://www.dodgedakota.net/boards/raise/57.html

Supposedly Quad2nv ran that setup, but my attempts to contact him have failed. I recognize your username and know your dakota is lifted if my memory serves me right. Have you actually tried that setup or talked to someone who has? I'm not being arguementative, just inquisitive.

Have you run the 2" spacers or the 3" Fabtech lift? I'd like to find out how they compare in ride quality.

Rumble -

Go with the Fabtech 3" suspension lift.

The 2" spacers will put too much stress on the ball joints and A-arm.

it's not if you tried or not . Go and look at your suspension . You don't have the fabtech 3" , but I do . From the spring nipple to the arm bump stop is about an inch of rebound travel .......When the truck dips it will rebound and come up right .........when it comes back up it only has an inch to travel up and it tops off hitting the arm stop . If you put the spacer you're compressing the spring , will get about an inch more in height , maybe 3/4 and be riding on the stop all the time . But hey it's your truck , go for it . Just let me know how's that working for you ................

Umm.. How do you like the 3" Fabtech kit? Does it seem pretty solid and have you had any problems with it?

I'm almost afraid to ask you in fear of another reply full of attitude, but I'm really interested in learning more about the different options that are out there.

I settled on the FabTech after asking question after question after question.

Some call it research, I call it "thorough investigation".

I have no gripes with mine. I have ridden in a few differnt trucks with "other" suspension lifts...and noticed a huge difference.

It's all up to you, though.

Pick what YOU like. THAT is what matters!!!!
