I've got that kit on my '01, but didn't install it myself. From what the offroad shop told me it was NOT a direct bolt on kit as Performance Accessories told me it would be. I wondered, cuz the box said for 2000 Dakota. I don't know what all was involved, but the installer said some "fabrication" was required to make the kit work.
And, yes, it does come with bumper relocation kits.

Good luck!

Ive got the American Eagle 589 rims...with the 3 3/4" backspacing...It set my footprint out 4 inches. Http://dakota2.4mg.com and youll see a link to the new photos on the main page showing the stance.
Ride was not affected by the lift at all...in my opinion.

Yep ... same here, Dakota. Eagle Alloys, but with 3 3/4" backspacing. Ride is not affected by body lift much, if at all. Wider tires follow road grooves a bit more...bout it.

Yessir, Python. 3" body lift is all for now. Should hold me over for a few days. ;o)

What bodylifts are you guys using and what did you pay? What modifications did you have to make after the lift if any?? Is there a suspension lift out yet?? Im not saying its bad to put a body lift on but I heard they werent that good. I heard this when I had my XJ lifted but then again they dont make a body lift for the XJ. I like to know as much as possible before I buy as Im sure you guys do to.

Performance Accessories Body lift part #PER60043 it's listed for $190.95 from www.4wheelparts.com I didn't do the body lift yet but from what Hawkeye has said he ended up beefing up the mounts for the front bumper abit so it could take abit more weight. Other then that no one has had any problems. Yes a Suspension lift is better but the earliest one will be available is sometime in the first quarter of next year so everyone is getting impatient. If you do the 3" body you can squeeze 33" tires underneath then once the 3" Suspension comes out everyone is hoping that we'll be able to fit 35's :-) but we'll just have to wait and see.

Basically what Knobby said is right on the money. I have absolutely no complaints about my lift. Truck feels and rides exactly the same as stock just taller. The brackets I made for my front bumper were just to give it a little more support because of my prerunner bar. Once I get the lights on it it will add a little more weight and I just wanted it to be really sturdy. As for goign off road, my lift hasnt been a problem at all. I have went everywhere that I wanted to with no problems from the lift.

You can do it yourself...providing you have SOME mechanical background..which i assume you do.

I did it by myself, outside in teh driveway, hand tools, and the stock bottle/screw jack...and the biggest thing... NO GATORADE! That was a big no-no...but besides that...it went very smooth.

Cost me around $500 for the install. But that included mounting & balancing of wheels/tires and whatever "fabrication" they had to do to the 2000 kit to fit the '01. I also had them re-install the nerf bars that I'd removed and they figured out someway to put the safari bar back on until I find a decent front bumper.
I know others have said about $350 for a body lift install. I didn't mind paying a few bucks for the peace of mind that I wasn't gonna bugger something up doing it myself. ;o)
