Subject: SUSPENSION LIFT Q'S!!!!
IP: Logged

Message:
I have a 2002 dakota sport 4x4 with a 4.7L V8 and I want to install a plush suspension lift that will let me do some fast off-roading. I know I will need shocks with resevoirs (I learned that through this article http://www.4wheeloffroad.com/techarticles/suspension/131_0505_coil/index.html) and I will be getting some BFGoodrich mud-terrain tires on either some Walker Evans or some Rock Crawler's. I just got my dak and I'am new to the whole offroad scene but I love it and I'am learning and getting into it fast. will you guys please give me some advice and refferences for my situation. thanks

i read an article that talks about how the oil in the shocks foams when absorbing high speed bumps rapidly. I might be wrong but with the kind of driving i want to do it seems like that might be a factor. Am I going a little too far with that one? do you think Id be alright with "regular" shocks? read the article i read here: http://www.4wheeloffroad.com/techarticles/suspension/131_0505_coil/index.html

You can go resevoir, or if you really want to get serious, then go with a multiple shock kit. You might have to fabricate it some, but it'll be woth it if you push the shocks a lot.

haha i got smart and decided not to do the rancho lift cuz its sumthing like 1300 for 3 inches!!! yea right!!! rough country is coming out with a 6 inch lift for 97-05 daks and its gonna be sweet! i cant wait to get mine on. it doesnt lower the torsion bars so u get better center clearence and nothing for rocks to snag on.
