Subject: Need help deciding on a lift

Hey everyone. I own a '98 CC Dodge Dakota SLT, and I'm just now getting a new job. It's completely stock now, and pretty low to the ground. So with the new money I'll have, I want to get a lift and put some bigger tires on it. I want it to be pretty big, but not completely giant. What size lift should I look for? I'm not sure if a 3 in. body lift would be enough.

Also, should I go with a body lift or suspension lift? It's not a 4x4 so I won't be doing a whole lot of off-roading, but is a suspension lift still the way to go?

And finally, with the lift, I'm going to need some bigger tires and wheels. I guess this ties in with my other question, but what size tire should I look at?

Thanks in advance, hopefully these questions won't be too much of a hassle.

From everything I've heard if you go with a 3" BL and 3" Suspension you can fit 33's. That's about the biggest you can go. I'm not exactly sure though because I don't have 2WD. The Suspension lift looks the nicest but depends on how much you want to spend. A body lift will only run you about $200.

(please note this picture was taken on a hill and the truck is actually level - the front is not higher than the rear)

'99 2WD 3.9L V6 with 3" Suspension Lift (Fabtech) and 3" Body Lift (Performance Accessories) with 33" BFG All Terrain's on Eagle Alloy 058 wheels.

It's beautiful.

I plan on doing the same thing to my truck as you did. I allready have the body lift on and just ordered the spacers for my wheels and am just waiting on a price quote from a few places before i order the suspension lift.

My question though is I'm assuming your running the 33x12.5 tires correct? Is there any rubbing or anything? Whats the backspacing on your rims? Is there anything else you had to do to it to make the tires fit? Thanks alot
