for all you fellas who have lifted a 98 Dakota Sport 3 inches

i am worried about my 4 wheel drive shifter that is in the floor will it not drop down too far? i am graduating high school this truck was graduation present from my parents my dad is very concerned about this and what overall effect it will have to the truck. has anyone had trouble with thier truck after a body lift. i want to put 33" x 11.50" on and i know i might get a reasonable 2 inches more of groud clearance mainly from the tires but iis it really worth all the trouble?

plase help i am really confused on all of this

Very worth it, no probs at all after lift. The PA kit should have an extender for your 4x4 shifter.

How hard is it to install a 3" lift yourself? Is it an all day or even more kinda thing?

Can you weld? The transfer case linkage (4wd shift lever) comes with an extension that has to be welded in. I had a buddy weld it with his arc welder. Actually, my buddy and I went to look at the kit and the truck just to see how hard it would be, and ended up doing it. He had a friend stop by and basically the two of them did it for a case of beer a piece. It is an all day affair, but keep plenty of beer and bandaids on hand and youll be golden. Just do it on a day when you have the next day off, just in case something goes awry.

The blocks I can see, but where are you gonna get coilovers? You have torsion bar front suspension, not coilovers. If you really don't feel like bodylifting, although we all agree its well worth it, I would just crank the torsion bars and throw in a rear add-a-leaf. Youre not gonna clear those 33's though. My advice-just bodylift the damn thing. Get someone who knows mechanics to help you, and if not, well nows the time to learn. So what is pop gets pissed...you'll laugh about it in a couple years. As for the cold air intake, I have heard you can modify the system if you bought it, although I don't know why you'd buy one. You can buy one from $125-225, or make one for about twenty bucks.
