Well I finally did it!!! I got the 3" body lift on my truck. It looks so sweeeeet now! Still running the stock 31" but it feels great now. When I was stopped at a light, my truck is now higher than a Toyota truck Haha....

But, I need some help... my steering has some play in it. It's also making hitting sound. It sounds like the steering shaft is hitting inside the firewall when I turn the wheel. It's really starting to bug me now. I now the steering shaft is not bent. The only other thing I could think of, the angle to steep and it's rubbing inside the firewall.
Did anybody else have this problem?

And a future note for people with the exhaust on the side. After you put the lift on your truck the exhaust looks funny (hanging low) So I'm going to take it to a muffler shop tomorrow and have them lift the exhaust back up.

Not sure what the knocking sound could be. Havent experienced anything like that. The lift shouldnt have caused any play in the steering because you really didnt change anything. Congrats though. Now get you some bigger shoes on that bad boy and get us some pics.

Allright..another one falls victim to the H.A.S. (High Altitude Syndrome)! Ahh.. one more down..so many more to go!

As for the knock..no idea. Unless the steering extension reatiner bolt is hitting. (The big Hex bolt) Only thing I can think of.

I just figured out what that knocking sound is coming from, DIRTDEMON. I just installed my body lift last weekend and I noticed that the bolt head from the base of the steering rod (where you add the extension) is hitting the engine mount/frame. Because the add-on extension puts the original adapter higher, it gets too wide near the frame making the bolt (of the original piece) hit the frame. Make sense!?! So what I did was grind a little of the frame to clear the bolt head when you turn the wheel. Clears it right up!!
