OK here it goes, I have read the back postings many, many, many of them and I have gathered some very good info. I have a 1998 Dakota 2x4 with 3.9L v6 dah. What I was thinking of doing is going with 2" lift springs and a, 3" body lift. However I have seen two different responses, The first is with a 2" lift spring without upper a arms will throw things out of alignment to were they cant be aligned. And the second is it is hard on ball joints. I can afford to go with Fabtech 3" lift kit but it is $400 dollars more then just 2" springs and shocks, is it worth the $400 for the extra inch? If it will prevent complications it is worth it for me but if there is not a complication with just running 2" lift coils then I will sacrifice the extra inch and spend the money else were. Tires don’t rely matter I will be happy with either 33x12.50x15 or 31x11.50x15 I just don’t know what to do. Any help will be very appreciated. Oh yah one more question if I go with the Fabtech 3” lift it says you cant use the OE wheel because of back spacing do I need to buy wheel before I put lift on because I wont be able to get the truck to the tire shop after putting the kit on with my stocks. And if I need to buy wheel I am interest in the eagle alloys 589 what back spacing do I get so assuming 3” body and 3” Fabtech to run 33’s without rubbing.

I got a 2x4 with 2001 qc and have the fabtech 3" lift ........It's pretty good so far no problems , the only thing is about the cross bar on the passenger side , that has to go back on the same ............ The spring only doe put to much pressure on the a arm and it some times gives problems on the alignment , and the ball joints stressed out ........Look at trucking suspensions , I've heard negative coments on their products , but definetly cheaper, also no waranty or liability with it , fabtech you got a problem , they will stand behind their product , you brake it , they will replace ......About the rims , there isn't to many options . What I got was 15x8 eagle 589 3.25 backspacing , american racing doesn't make one , there is also a 15x10 tallquad ran , but I don't know if rubs or not .There is also 15x7 with 4" bacspaing , but fabtech recomends 3.75 minimum , but 4" will work , but the only rim with 4" is 15x7 .....I ran 31 and had to cut bottom corner of valance , and the inner covers , no big deal look good , can't tell they've been cut . I'm totally happy with my truck , like the height , if somebody makes a spindle , probably would look into that , but for now , i'm ok , not going the body lift route ..........
p.s. 15x7 weren't available for 60 days , no rims in stock .......

ohhhhhhhhhhh, can't drive on stockers , will rub an the upper ball joints and shread the crap out of your brake line , and cause , brake fluid leakeage , and no brakes ........ Don't do it , I tried ........ You live and learn .........
