My point is, is it any spacers that i can get to put on the spndil or maybe the a- arm that would give me baybe an inch of lift or sumthing not looking for much just trying to fit 35's with out cuting any thing .. back is no problem but the front it will rub when i cut the tire have all ready had them on to see what it would do all i need is a half an inch to an inch
and the tortion bars are maxed out
thank you

How wide were the 35's that you tried on? I have 33x10.5's on mine in the front stock. Their thornbids so the nobbies stick out close to the with or a 12.5 tire. Was considering 3" body and 35's, but I gotta do gears first. I notice it bigtime with the 33's and dont want to feel what its like with 35's and no gears. Had the torsion bars craned for awhile but was trying to sell my truck for awhile so I brought them back down to stock. To clear the tires I put on old spring in the center of the bottom of the wheelwell plastic to a hole in the frame behind the cab mount. It moved the plastic back about 1/2" to 3/4" back. Voila no more rubbing and factory ride was back. And she wheels much better to.

imo, if you don't have the money to propery raise your truck to fit 35's, then you don't have the money to run 35's and should stick to 33's.

but that's just me.

calm down bud. i didn't mean to be rude. and i don't think what i posted was rude, just short and to the point.

no, i am not a kid. well, it all depends on your perspective. i am 25.

let me go into more detail about my opinion no this subject...

cranking on your torsion bars is ok for only a max of < 2". even that much is putting abnormal strain on your already pooly designed/weak front suspension. add to it the dodge balljoint issue and the added stress of having to suspend a much larger-than-stock tire/rim package, the front end will give out. and in my opinion, the front diff on the dakotas is too weak to handle 35's.

i know many guys running a 3" suspension lift plus a 3" body lift and still can't run 35's without some good trimming. their trucks are mall crawlers. if they went offroad, they'd have major rubbing.

you stated that you are a welder. if i was you, i would make the good investment of getting some research on a solid axle swap and do it right. 35's are very large tires. therefore they need a good axle. you can't beat a solid axle for larger tires.

but this is all moot if you don't plan on offroading the truck. and if you keep it on the pavement (not that there is anything wrong with that) my suggestions will be overkill.

sorry to have offended you.

just me its ok i am only 21 myself.....
not to my knowlege did the 98 have a ball joint problem but itf it does i am sure it will brake on me lol i just replaces the hub with the whell bearing . and the cv boot on the axel and that costed me 280 bucks but any way i got 3 inches outa my t bars yeah i knwo it puts a lota stress on the frontend and yeah 35's would be overkill for just the hwy i agree ..... the reason i wanted to do it was i had a guy giving me a set of 35 all terrin tires and that beats paying an other 800 dollers for the goodyear wranglers mtr's as far as the strate axel , i have looked at sum mesurmenst and also been thinking of this a ford f250 4x4 strate axel is the perfect width now the problem is where and how to mount the leaf springs to the frame because dakota frames arent really solid enuff to hold them ........
but i have seen it on a webpage done i will look for the page and post it on here
