Everyone seems to buy the Performance Accessories one... I did and I don't regret it. Installed it myself on a Saturday.

On V8 trucks, the 3” body lift kit creates a minor clearance problem. The radiator, which is attached to the body, moves up 3” and the stock fan, attached to the engine, no longer clears the lower radiator hose. The common solution is to replace the fan with an electric unit. Other than that, the only complaint I’ve seen is the Trailmaster kit doesn’t include bumper relocation brackets. Don’t know of any other issues.

Note: I very frequently get email from people asking about the lift kit in my
’88. Typically, I will NOT respond the emails (about 90%) that ask questions
I’ve already covered on my web pages (ie. Where did you get the kit?, Who
makes it?, How much did it cost?, What modifications did you have to make to get it to fit your truck?. How hard was it to install? What problems did you
encounter? etc, etc...)

I have the 4.7L and maybe this is new, but the PA kit came with a section of metal pipe that you're supposed to splice into you're lower rad hose which makes it longer, and therefore clears the radiator fan blades... (JUST clears it - make sure you put that pipe in the right spot!)

Oh yeah, the metal pipe is also about 1/8th inch wider than the lower rad hose, so it's a real b*tch getting that sucker in!
