Subject: 285/75/16 no lift?
IP: Logged

Message:
I have an 03 4x4 and would like to put 285/75/16 tires with no lift. I know there will be a lot of trimming, but would like to know if anyone has done it. I do offroad a bit and I want to be sure they will clear in those situations as well.
Thanks

don't think so - you'll need a whole lot of trimming... Even with a 3 inch body lift you could get slight rubbing with that size tire. (exactly what I have and I've cranked the t-bars too)

I know it will work. Buddy did it on a SXT 4x4 and was a frequent Pismo go'er. I did it with 33's but I also have the Hanson bumper that helped the front clearance.

Yep, it is just plastic you are trimming.

You can't tell me that 12.5's fit on stock suspension with no frame rub... When the wheel is at full turn, those tires will hit the framerail - unless you've changed the backspacing. (did you?)

I've got 3inch body lift and 285/75R16 and even I get a bit of frame rub - very slight. Stock wheels.

Frame rub is a given sorry if I did not mention that I usually always do. At full turn it will rub the frame been that way since '97. It is a slight rub at full turns.

If you change the BS to correct this the rubbing is just moved further out and more trimming is required.

Thanks for clarifying that.

Chris
