I had my 3" lift from fabtech put on , after it was on the truck would not align ......... tried moving 360 the bar that attaches to upper control and goes too far in and hits on round section of housing for spring ......... Sorry , to clarify camber positive ( i think ) 6.0 on passenger side , on drivers side ok . Had to grind adjustment holes for camber to move further up and go negative on the camber . Well it worked I got 1.8 on one side and 1.9 on other , should be .50 but I'll drive the truck for a few days and see how much it settles .............Now I got the 15x8 rims american eagle 3.25 backspacing , 32 rub big time and will need the inner fender well cut and the valance cut in an angle about 2or 3 inches , tried a 31 still rubbed ............The picture on the fabtech catalog shows with 7" rims 4" backspacing called and said 4" was ok , now nobody in southern cal has 15 x 7 in stock , american eagle said 60 days ....................Now i'm at tring tomorow 16x8 with 4.5 backspacing will put the tire in and wont rub no cutting , plus the fact that the 15x8 look life crap , they stick out the sides alot looks like those lowerded trucks from the 80's with the wide rims ............anyway don't like how it looks at all besides the fact that it hits ......................the problem with the backspacing is it hits on the upperballjoint and brakeline that runs on the end of the a arm , i checked and have about 2.25 inches in betwwen so a 4.5 backspacing should be ok will have an inch incha and a quarter space , now i'm wondering when the suspension rebound how far up does it go and will it hit ???????

I'm thinking I should've had a ford ...........These damn aftermarket people don't make anything for us , or dodge is making differnent stuff to screw with us ...............

Sounds like you are having a lot of problems with your Dakota. What year is it? I have a 99 with the Fabtech 3" lift and 3 " body lift and have had not problems with my alignment.

Dude, get some fender flairs and go with the larger back spacing. It will give your truck that "wide stance" look. and protect you paint job. I have them on my 90' and they are great.

sorry for that ford CRAP, I got like a chick and let my emotions overtake me ...................if you use the fabtech 3" , becareful to put the cross bar that holds the a arm on the passenger side correctly , because the cross bar has a bend on it and it goes one way , if you put it wrong you have to take it apart and flip it over front to back ............. problem solved truck aligened and , agree with joe , has the wide stance , went with 31 , trimmed alot of the inner fender well not so much the front valance , only the inner portion , triangle . Looks really good , I'm impressed , like the height , the mud terrains look nargly .............
I'ts done 2 wd drive , 4.7 3" fabtech lift 15x8 american eagles 589 charcoal gray , thanks for all your help .....................

Cool man! Hope it stays cool to ya. The lift thing is a compulsion. First I got a 2in lift, then a 3in body, then another 2in shackle in the rear. Looking for 3in lift spindles. Even looking at having them custom fabed cuz no one will make them in mass. Good Luck.

Hi guys,
I have been talking to numeras companies about making the 3in lift spindles. The only one I had a chance with was AIM Ind. About a year ago they said that the Dakota lift spindles would be for sale about Jan. 2002. Well, another call back later in the year it was Summer 2002. Now they say the spindles are not even in the designing stage yet. "Probably next year before they sell." Said the AIM rep. He also said that there is not enough intrest in Dakotas to make them right now. So all of you who ever thought about lifting, Call AIM up and tell them you want spindles. If we all get together on this, we might get lucky! Thanks for the intrest.
