Subject: 4x4 suspension on a 4x2
IP: Logged

Message:
What is the difference suspension-wise between a 4x2 quad cab and a 4x4 quad cab to give the 4x4 the extra ride height and the firmer ride? I have no use for a 4x4 but I like the ride better so I was wondering if it would be a direct parts swapout to give it the ride height. I don't need (or want) a body lift or anything, I just want to give a 4x2 the same ride and ride height as a factory 4x4. Thanks.

i looked for a previous post I had put up on the same subject but can't seem to find it.

the whole front suspension is different. meaning upper and lower control arms. I beleive ball jopints and then torsion bars. Its not really worth it.

the fabtech 3 inch will get you to the height of a stock 4x4 but you need new wheels. a 1.5 inch spacer(2.25 front lift) will get you pretty close as well. I know you said you wern't interested in lifts but its much more practical.
