Subject: 3" Body Lift and tire size
IP: Logged

Message:
I have an "04 Dakota Quad Cab SLT Plus and would like to do a PA 3" body lift. What is the biggest tire size (width & height) I can run on the stock 16x8 rims without cutting bumpers, trim, etc. I'm considering the BFG T/A's in a 32 or 33" size if possible.

Thanks

hey guys im a 2WD guy but im sure you can clear 33s because my dad has a stock 4x4 and it has 32s on it and he rubs very little, so im sure with 3 iches you could clear 33s...but dont hold me to that

I had an '01 Dak 4.7 reg cab with a PA 3-inch lift. I ran 305-70-16 Baja Claw radials no problem. I could have gone bigger, but I did not want to trim or overcrank my Torsion bars. These tires measure 32.95 inches tall by 11.7 inches wide with 10 inches of tread width. I found a 285-75-16 BF Goodrich AT to use as my spare since it measures 32.9 inches tall and was the closest thing I could find. In other words, go with the 285-75-16 BF Goodrich to fill up your wheel-wells and give you good off-road articulation. I now have an '04 HEMI Ram, but I will be leaving it stock for a long time.

I have been looking at 285/75R/16 or 305/70R/16 BFG ATs myself. I'm concerned that the 305's are wider and would require trimming. Is that the case?

Also, has anyone tried 295/75R16 with a 3" PA lift? That is what I'd really like, but those are 33.4" tires. I'm trying to limit trimming.

I drive a 92 LE Extended Cab 5.2 4X4
I put a 2" PA body lift on mine and easily fit 31X10.50 Pro Comp Mudders on mine and could have gone bigger yet. JUST MAKE SURE YOU REPOSITION YOUR RADIATOR OR YOU WILL CUT YOUR LOWER TRANSMISSION LINE AND LOWER RADIATOR HOSE AND SPEND HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS FIXING CRAP!!!!! Other than that it looks and works great.

Alright so i have a 2003 2wd slt quad cab and i
want to cram in BFG 32 11.5. I bought 1.5inch
spacers and the tire doesn't rub the frame but i
had to take them off because i couldnt turn hardly.
The tire rubs on the back of the metal well. What
can i do so i can get these tires on without rub.
And keep in mind that i have very little money to
spend...
