Does anyone know anythung about Cooper discover st tires? They're an all-terrain tire. Just wondering how they do in the mud and snow and whatever else. Also curious to know how many miles to expect and how they wear.

Running the Cooper Discover STs right now. A BIG improvement over the stock Badyears that came with the truck. I can still slide the rearend in 2-wheel drive, and stopping in 2 or 4 wheel drive can be tricky, if there is more than a couple inches of snow or slush, but nothing like the ice skates the Goodyears were.

I'm also running them slightly oversized, so there is occassional rubbing at half turn.

They normally went for $130 each (mounted and balanced), but I got a deal by "trading in" my almost new rear Goodyears, and the new spare, for 4 new Coopers and a "core" (old tire that will still pass inspection). $400 total

I would highly recommend coopers to anyone!

Yeah i would be running 285/75/16 on my 2003 quadcab 4x4 with a 3" bodylift. they're like 32.6"ov and 20/32 tread depth. Hey Dragon, how many miles have you put on yours, and how many do you think you will get? Iknow they're not a mud tire by any means but i want something that i wont replace every year since i put 25000 miles on the truck the 1st year.

got a set on my 99 ram 2500 4x4. I tow alot of weight upwards of 18,000lbs on gooseneck. They seem to hold up decent. Good sidewall lugs and they are a decent off-road tire that is able to clean out well even in sticky mud. I also had a set on a 96 dak 4x4 and loved them. Probably wont put them back on the 3/4T again as no matter what tire i have it dosent last more than 30Kmi But on the dak they were great I had 30x9.5LT's and would reccomend them on the midsize trucks. got about 45Kmi out of the dak's ST's

I've put almost 20k on them so far, and there appears to be very little wear.

I figure I should get a good 50k+ out of them.

I have 33x12.5x15 Cooper S/T's on my 97 Dakota with a 3 inch BL. I can't complain, for the price and the wear, they are a great tire. They are fairly aggressive and mine howl on the highway, people look at me like they are swampers howling. The tread on mine is uneven due to ball joint problems till I had the $$$ to pay for uppers, lowers, and a wheel bearing due to the BJ's.
I go off-raod a lot in the summer, they get me through anything I venture into. They pack a little mud in the grooves but it comes out if you spin the tires faster. They clean out well on the trail, no complaints.
The winter can be tricky, snowy roads are bad with the wide S/T's but I drive with care. They are not as good as an all-terrain but better than a mud-terrain on ice/snow/water on the roads.
I also can slide the rear in 2wd, even with my lil v6.
I have around 25K on them right now, and due to bad wear with BJ's, two will be repalced at 30-35, but the other 3 are good till prolly 50 or a little more. Good wear for an aggressive tire.
Go for them, they look nice and are cheap with a relatively long tread life.

Just my 2 pennies.....

Cooper uses a hard rubber to make their tires out of, most Truly "All Terrain" people would recommend a slightly softer rubber so that it will clinge to the objects you are rolling over.

Wearing will be slightly less on the Cooper due to the hard rubber. But honeslty i would buy another tire if you are looking for a good "All Terrain" tire.

But a softer rubber tire will wear faster, and harder rubber is cheaper though. That is why Cooper sells their tires fairly easy.
