Well here you go! Glad to see someone else is interested in keeping their old iron rolling! I've got about 5-1/2" of lift using the Trailmaster body lift and add-a-leaves along with 2000# torsion bars and they're cranked a bit to level it. I'm running 33x9.50 BFG AT's on the stock rims and only have the usual full lock frame rub that any oversized tire will cause. Just had to trim the tab at the rear of the front fenders and reprofile my mudflaps. So far after having it on the road for over 5 months, no fender rubbing yet! Enjoy the pix.

Warwagon, do you have any picts of the straight side shot of your truck you could possibly send me??? I am thinkin about going either 33x10.5s but I need to get new rims with less backspacing. Or I could go with 33x9.50s and possibly kwwp the AR ims I have now. Just need to see what a dak w33s looks like . Thanks

I was thinking of selling my gen1 untill I saw those pics, it has 190,000 km and still going strong. any advice on how to put a 1-3 inch lift on a 88 kota or is it easier to just get bigger tires, if so how big can I go without a lot of fender rub?

Cooker,
Go up to my origional post on this thread and checkout the webshots of my '88. I've got a 3" body lift and around another 1-1/2" in the suspension from an add-a-leaf and cranked 2000# torsion bars. I'm currently running 9.50x33's but there are a couple of pix of what it looked like on the 9.50x30's before I got the new gummies. IMHO, the suspension lift part was the fastest and easiest (only took around 2 hr on a lift), though if you only went that far I'd say 31's are the biggest you could go without rubbing with stock rims. The body lift took a buddy and I around 8 hrs with a lift available - though quite some time was wasted getting the blasted rear cabmount bolts out. From what I've seen, they give me the best backspacing to limit fender rub when articulated and with the wheel in any portion of its arc of travel. Just my $.02.
