I'm planning on putting a 3" body lift on my truck. What about the shift linkage? I've got a 5 speed. Do you have to extend the shift arm like you do the steering column, or does it just sit lower in the cab?

When I put my body lift on my shifter kept hitting on the dash (area with the ashtray). I took my shifter out, heated it with a torch, and put a slight curve over the entire length of the shifter. Solved my problem without the extension.

I have a 98 5speed 4x4 and did nothing to the shifter, still works fine...
