No nobody makes them..You may be able to order a set of V8 "heavy duty" torsion bars from the dealer, that will acomplish the same thing

yes there are a pair of keyway lift/s you can buy. they are made by TRUCKIN SUSPENSION .these will cost you about 85.00 for the pair. They will give you 2-3 inch/s of lift.

GO BIG OR GO HOME !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Unless you have adjusted on your existing setup and your upper control arm is still not resting on its bump stop (highly doubtful), you are wasting cash that could be spent elsewhere. I have yet to know somebody who has max'd out there adjustment bolts and did NOT mash that upper stop...well except maybe you folks toting a plow or 300lb bumper and winch...but even those guys may still "get it up" all the way.

I'm all about upgrades...where and when needed, but this is one I would really study before I decided.

Anybody concur?

Other bill, I concur. You should be able to get 1.5 inches or so with the current setup. I agree, the problem is that the stock suspension will not allow that much lift. You can cut the bumpstops some to accomodate more lift. The problem with raising it too far is thatr it will set the front wheels out of alignment. Remember that as you lift the truck the top of the wheels will turn in towards the truck and the bottoms will turn out. There is some adjusting room, but not really enough for a major height increase. Now I did lift mine about 1-1.5 inches and it aligned properly, but do not expect too much more.

I agree Bill, if you’ve reached the point where you need keys to raise the front any higher or to compensate for excessive sag; then it’s time to start exploring other options.

On another note though, I’ve seen a company that makes torsion bar relocators that allow the installer to lift the truck with a suspension lift and still keep the torsion bars tucked up between the frame rails for protection. http://realiftsusp.com/ makes them for GM applications but I’ve never seen them for anything else.

Walt_Felix,

Those torsion bar relocators would be great for those of us with lifts. I checked out the link you posted and followed it to this one where they indicate they are in the testing phase for a dakota/durango application.

From somewhere in the back of my mind I have this feeling that I saw these 2-3 years ago and they said they were in the testing phase way back then... or maybe i'm just loosing it. Sure would be great if they actually produced them though.

I had the same feeling. I remembered seeing that link sometime ago and it took me a while to find that site again via Google. I think there would be an issue with the cross-member the anchors our mounted in. On the GM’s I believe that cross-member is bolted to the frame rails and according to the website, it needs to be moved back a couple of inches. IIRC, on the Dakotas, that cross-member is welded to the frame and would require considerable, additional work to relocate. If I were to take an educated guess, I would say that’s why they don’t offer a Dakota application.

Thats why my torsion bars arent cranked up any higher than they are too..that welded crossbeam.

I tore the crap outta it on some rocks while 4wheelin one time....so i can no longer get a socket in there to adjust them.

I was gonna just replace it with a junker but realized only then that it was welded on for some reason..even though the transmission crossmember is bolted on.
