Howdy, all. I'm new here, and wanted some semi-expert advice. I have a 2000 4 door,4WD, and so far, all I've done is move up to 31/11.50s, and add the Flowmaster system. It's basically gonna be a street truck, at least until I bang it up a little more. I am very pleased with the 4.7 motor, and the Flowmaster seems to help considerably. I'd like to get some more rubber under it, without a lift kit.
Any suggestions...Mark

I tried to fit 32x11.5s without a lift with no luck. Now this was before I cranked the torsion bars to level out the truck, but I'm not so sure that alone would be enough. I think your only option would be to do some major trimming. Good luck!

4X4X4dr,

Nice Truck! I'm heading out to order my lift and wanted to ask if you had any rubbing/trimming problems running 33's with just a body lift? I plan on using my stock wheels and BFG 285/75/16's. These tires should be a hair shorter and a tad narrower than yours. Care to pass along any advice?

I run the 285/75/16 BFG All-Terrains on the stock 16x8 wheels, with a 3" body lift and still have some minor rubbing. I did do some trimming on the plastic inner fender and that helped quite a bit. I also added 1/4" spacers on the front wheels. I still rub the frame when I have the wheel cranked all the way over but I haven't messed with the torsion bars yet or did any trimming on the frame.

XXNavy -

Many guys here are running 33x12.5 tires on their stock 15" rims. I have an 01 Dak that came with 16' rims and I am planning to by 305x70R16 which are the equivalent to a 33x12.5. As far as I know as long as you crank up your t-bars (which I have already done) to level out the truck you will only rub on the frame at full turn. Since I don't have my tires yet I am only going off of what everyone else here has mentioned but give me a couple weeks when I eventually get my tires and I will let you know.

Also I know of two guys here that actually are running 35's on their stock rims with only a 3" body lift.

I guess my question would be is what do you intend to do with this truck? Is it mainly going to stay on the road or are you going to offroad with it?
