 Subject: tire size questions

I have a 98 CC 2wd SLT. I have the 17x9 r/t wheels on it and i would like to put some big tires on it. I would like 33's if possible. I am going to do a 3 inch body lift. If anyone knows a tire size that will work please let me know.

Well, I know on a 01 2x4 with a 3" body lift, you have to do alot of trimming to get 33's not to rub using 15x8 wheels.

Yeah that's the answer I keep getting to this question. Thank you though. The problem is that i do not know the difference in backspacing. Also I have heard that the 16x9 in. wheels can fit 33x12.5 's on them with the 3 inch body lift and some trimming. But that was a 4x4 so I don't know whether this is even relevant or not. If the backspacing was the same and I was a 4x4 this would answer my question. If you have any comments based on your info or the info above please let me know thanks.
