 Subject: I have a 92 lifted dakota with 35" tires

Hello there I just bought a 92 Dakota with 4" suspension and 3" body lift. It has 35" tires under it but I would like some more power. What engine mods would you recommend? What gear ratio would you recommend? I just want to bring it closer to the stock ratio. I was thinking about 3.90 or 4.10 is that ok? What is the front ring gear size? Pictures Please!!!!!!I am getting ready to lift my 92,I want to run 35'S!!!Been looking for some pics!! Your front diff is a 7 1/4 Not very strong,take it easy......especially with 35's! i have 35's on my 92 with the v8. i'm running 4:11 in mine but i think you would be better of with 4:56. i have lost of bottom end but my rpm's are higher at highway speeds. if you want to retain the highway driving go for the 4:56.

tj, arent your revs outrageous on the highway? Wait you got 4.11, not 4.56s. I am looking to run 4.11s with my V6 1990 Dak on 31s. maybe to be 33s soon. You have a V6 right? Whats you rpms at say 65? Thanks

That is a nice clean looking truck...your next project should be to make some gap guards for the rear fenderwells and paint the frame black too...It will look even better!! Oh my god they are 33's that bastard lied to me. I am going to kick his ass. Thank you guys for pointing that out for me. And yes my next project is to paint the frame and make gap guards. Also 92Dakota4x4 and SoCal your trucks look great.

well, sorry it wasnt what he said....Oh well,you can see how much research I've been doing trying to figure how 35's would fit!!I guess I'll know in a few weeks.Honestly,I think I'm gonna have to go with 33's too...35's might work on the street but will most likely rub off-road.But dammit,I'm still gonna try..

Better check under the hood and see if it has all 10 cylinders like he said too! I bet the cool parachute that comes out the back to slow down is a pretty cool feature! The turbo should really help you get that 51 mpg around town! Just be careful with that new 4 wheel steering system when you're parking downtown!

thanks guys, ya i'm sure they are only 35" tires, but they are made by supper swamper so the side walls are very strong so a 35 truly mesures 35" not just on the rack, but also on the truck.
