WELL, AFTER READING A COUPLE HUNDRED POSTS OVER THE LAST WEEK AND A HALF, AND SEVERAL RESPONSES FROM A COUPLE OF VERY HELPFULL MEMBERS, THIS IS WHAT I HAVE COME UP WITH :

1) I'M GOING TO GET A MEMBERSHIP. IT'S A GREAT SIGHT WITH TONS OF INFORMATION AND FREINDLY/KNOWLEDGEABLE PEOPLE.

2) I'M GOING TO TAKE MY 2000 CC 4X4 AND ADD THE FOLLOWING :

A) 3" PERFORMANCE ACCESSORIES BODY LIFT

B) #149 EAGLE ALLOYS 16X8 W/4-1/2" BACK SPACING INSTEAD OF STOCK 15X8 W/5-1/2" BACK SPACING

C) BFG A/T LT285/75R16 TIRES

I'VE ALREADY HAD THE TORSION CRANKED 3/4" TO LEVEL THE TRUCK. CAN'T WAIT TO GET THE REST DONE THE FIRST WEEK OF FEB.

PLEASE REVIEW AND LET ME KNOW IF ANYBODY HAS ANY FIT CONCERNS OR GENERAL COMMENTS. I WANT TO GET IT RIGHT THE FIRST TIME. THANKS IN ADVANCE.

I want to see your truck when its all done. I am going to go with the same body lift and tires but i am sticking with the factory rims for now. Are you going to do the body lift yourself or are you taking it somewhere localy. I am still looking for a good place to take mine I wouldnt mind doing to myself to save some cash I got the space and time i just dont have the jacks or air wrench. Anyway post some pics when done.

I have done the body lift and tires etc. Your plan sounds fine. Just a few tips though..
Steering extension and rest of the lift is way easier with two people.

Radiator hose needs extending.
Manual trans. shifter needs to be bent.
Club Cabs will only need 6 blocks in cab portion.

Good luck and post pics. Oh and your speedo will be off after the new larger tires.

I have rims and tires for sale from my 98' Dak. They are Eagle 589's (15x8) with 32x11.5 15's. They are Pathfinder tires. I only used them for about 500 miles. Traded in my Dak for a Ram. I am from AZ...if you are interested, let me know and maybe we can work out something. Oh yea, I put on the 3" Perf. Acc body lift and they fit great. The back spacing is 3.25" on them.

Thanks.

Just remember that tire selection is slimmer and more expensive for 16 inch rims. Also, the taller the rim, the less sidewall on the tire. The less sidewall on the tire, the less flex it will have which can mean a slight traction disadvantage off road as compared to a 15 inch rimmed tire of the same size. Not that that is a huge concern. Just something to think about.

I'M FROM CANTON OH. HAVE 2 SHOPS THAT WILL DO THE LIFT. BOTH AROUND $250 FOR THE INSTALL.

HAVE AUTO, SO SHIFTER NOT A PROBLEM. DEFINITELY WANT THE 21" UNIVERSAL HOSE (NOT SOME GOOFY SPLICE AND EXTEND SET-UP).

WANT TO GO WITH 33'S ON THE TIRES. THE THREE RIM STYLES I LIKE HAVE 3-1/4" TO 3-3/4" BACK SPACING IN 15X8'S. THE 16X8'S HAVE 4-1/2" TO 5" BACK SPACING (CLOSER TO STOCK). 33X12.50X15'S WON'T WORK WITH THAT MUCH BACK SPACING. THE LT285/75R16 ARE THE EQUIVALENT OF A 33X11.50X16 AND SHOULD WORK WITH NO RUBBING OR TRIMMING. NOT AS CONCERNED ABOUT THE WIDTH OF THE TIRE AS I AM ABOUT THE HEIGHT.

THANKS FOR THE TRACTION TIP HAWK, BUT UNFORTUNATELY THIS DAK SPENDS 90% OF IT'S LIFE AS AN EVERYDAY COMMUTER. THE SMALLER SIDEWALL OF THE 16" SHOULD GIVE MORE ASHALT STABILITY (ESPECIALLY WITH THE 3" BODY LIFT).

INSTALLED THE AAR RAM AIR HOOD LAST NIGHT ... LOOKS GREAT. WISH YOU COULD STILL USE THE RAM BADGE. DON'T KNOW IF I'LL GO FUNCTIONAL.

THANKS FOR INPUT/ANYTHING ELSE ?/WILL POST PICS
