Subject: Torsion Bar/Add-A-Leaf Lift

Hi, have '99 Std. Cab 4x4 that I just put a PA-3" body lift on. That PA lift worked out wonderfull! I just bought Tough Country 2" add-a-leaf for the rear. Can I make up the difference in the front by just jacking up my T-Bars? Will I get 2" out of that? Will that mess up my allignment at all? I just need some suggestions. Not much money, trying to stick with a low-dollar lift. Also, who makes after-market 15x8 wheels for the Dakotas/Durangos? It's near impossible to find wheels with 6 lugs and 4.5" centers! Thanks for any input!

Crank up torsions 2" will work but lower the life of your front end componants, sometimes.
American Eagle makes 15x8 rims with 6x4.5 bolt pattern, model 589 is nice.

I have my torsion bars cranked about 1.5". You should be OK at 2", but I wouldn't go much over that. I have heard, but not verified that 2.5" is about the max they will go. You will probably need to get an alignment after. It will stiffen your ride up a bit, but it's not that bad.The best way to do it is to jack the truck up while cranking. Do both of them at the same time then lower and measure. Repeat the process until the truck is level, then make sure the left & right are level.

Rob, i have the exact same setup as you're wanting to do and i can tell you that the tough country sprins are more than 2". i have my TB's cranked all the way up and it's still a little high in the back. i was able to get the 2" out of the front but, like i said, the back is still a little higher.

and yes, if you crank you TB's that far then you'll need an alignment.

Thanks Guys! I put the springs in the rear and
cranked up the TBs 3.5 turns. I don't think I
want to try to get any more out of them. You're
right though, the rear still sits a little high. I had
no idea that would be the case. With all of that
and the 3" PA body lift, The truck sits real nice!
Now, my 31" tires just look a little out of place!
lol! Who carries those 589 wheels and what's
the price tag on them? Thanks Alot!
