If it makes you all feel any better, I was forced to buy a beater Honda to run back and forth to work in. My V-6 was gettin about 13mpg with 31's. I wasn't sinkin $40-60 aweek in gas into the truck. I just hope the car lasts, cuz the 33's are coming in July.

I'm not pulling anybody's leg, I have a 95' Extended Cab, V-8(no mods) w/ 4spd auto and 3.55 gearing. With 78,000 miles and running 31x10.5s I am averaging 14.5 to 15.5 mpg going to and from work. It is 12 miles to the base, half of which is rural driving(50mph). I have squeezed almost 18 mpg when I transfered from Corpus Christi, TX and in my travels to Virginia. The key is to keep it under 65, but no less than 50mph.

I average 12 mpg with my 02 qc 4.7 3.92 4x4. But I only have a 3-4 mile trip to work and I don't see the highway very often.

'bout 15mpg on the Highway. Sucks but I guess thats the price for larger tires.

Wouldn't want any other!

I have 33" super swampers on my dak cc with the 5.2 and a manual transmission and I get about 13 w/ a flowmaster muff and airaid intake. but it's very worth the fun. plus, you must factor in that the odometer is regulated by rotations in the wheels, which is set to the factory wheel size, so you're actually going father on every rotation of the tires because of a larger circumference. so my 13 mpg is probably more like 14. in any case, the upgrade was very much worth the extra look and fun from the 1-2 mpg loss.
