Subject: Rim Fit Question

Message:
Will i have any problems fitting 15x10 rims on my 2001 Dak? My friend said there might be a problem with the disc brakes being too tight on the rim. Anyone running these rims? i'm putting on 589's.

what size tires are you running on the rims? there are a few guys on here that are running 33's on 10" rims with 3" of lift and they do have rubbing, but not on the brakes. It's mainly on the fenders (so they trim them) and on the frame at full turn.

If it jams force it, if it breaks it needed fixing anyway.

um, i hope you have a lot of lift. jerseyboy is running that size tires on a 15x10 rim. he's already installed the 6.5in Chassis Tech Suspension Lift. he's still having rubbing at full turn. he just bought a 3" body lift to help him out. so to run that size tire with that wide a rim, you're gonna need some good lift. you might want to try to contact him to see what he's doing.

i just put on a set of Weld SS 15X10's with 33/12.5/15 X-Terrain tires. i trimmed the lower bumper facia, but the rear is still rubbing. so tonight i'll be trimming that too. once that's done, there shouldn't be too much more rubbing, but probably still a just a little..

also, since the rims have 4.6" of back space combined with the extra width, there's no rubbing on the frame. no way, no how. there's at least an inch of space in there now.

yeah, but you're runnin 33's. he's talking about runnin 35's. plus he's running a different rim that has a different backspacing. talk to that jersyboy, he's got the same rim with the same size tire.

yeah, without a big suspension lift, 35" boggers on a 15X10 will probably tear off your fender flares and bumper.

I'm going with the 6.5" plus 3" body. No problem. Might even go with 37's later, but 35's will be nice until i get new gears. Only have 3.92 right now.
