Subject: ? about spacers on stock 15X8s /3" Body
IP: Logged

Message:
I have a question about using spacers on my stock 15X8 wheels. I have purchased a 3" PA bodykit and 33X12.5X15 Goodyear Wrangler MT/Rs. I would prefer to keep the stock wheels not just because it will save me a few hundred but because they look great. I would like to have the max space between the hub and the wheels. So my question is what size spacers should I put on, OR should I use em at all?

Any info/pics etc would help!

I just started using 1/4" spacers on my truck. Only have had them for 2 weeks. I would say if you do use them get longer lugs. I dont need them for off road but on road I do use them. I have heard others say they had problems but I am not sure how much of a spacer they used.

You will rub at full turn with what you have for tires. 1/4" may be enough but for $130.00 you may not want to try. If you have poor driving habits you may also tear up the front suspension parts, Ball joints, rack, tie rods but with the use of these tires you can do that alone.

I wish I had more time on my spacers to give better info but I dont yet.

Never late for a Tee time or wheelin with my buddies! Always ready for both!!!

Spacers will give you extra clearance to the inside of your tires that will prevent the tire lugs from catching on the frame. But there is still the clearance problem that is made worse at the outer fender lips and the the rear of the fenders durring turns. When you give to one you must take from another.
As far as the extended length wheel studs, Yes they are a definite need if not a requirement.

Which 0.25 spacers will fit my '97 Dakota? And if I have to get longer studs for them, which are those?
I was looking at truckperformance.com but couldn't find out... they seem to take some time to respond to email...

Thanks, but I did that and after the search a text on top of the page says that the products might not fit the selected car...
Any idea on the studs?
