I'm looking for some feed back on these tires. Has anyone used them? If so how are they on road, off road, mud, snow, ice, (anything else you have taken then through)? What kind of tread life do they have? Are they noisy on road?

Any additional info would be great. I am buying my 3" PA body lift within the next week and plan to get some new 33" tires.

If anyone has any other suggestions for a good AT tire let me know. I have had BFG ATs before and I loved them but I wanted to try something different.

I have the Procomp All Terrains. They are pretty good all around and I've gotten close to 40,000 miles on them and still good for probably another 10-15,000. They are not the best in the rain though because the compound of the tire is hard.

I'm going to try the Nitto Terra Grapplers next with some 18 inch wheels.

I have the procomp x-terrains on my dakota size 31-12.50 on a 15x10 inch rim and I love these tires. they do better in the mud then my old mudterrains did and they also keep me moveing on sand something my mt would not do.

the ride is a little smother then my mt only a lttle rougher then my bfg all-terrains on my tahoe, but there never really rough only moderate vibration at speeds below 8mph.

at first they were really quite but after some miles they got louder there not really that loud, quiter then my mt. if you ever had the bfg all-terrain before the k.o. thats about as loud as they are.

defifinately the best allaround tire I have ever had, good grip in all conditions especially in the rain compared to my mt.

Thanks everyone for the great info. Has anyone ever used these tires in the snow? If so how are they? I live in Michigan and I plan to use these tires are my daily drivers all year round.

i'm glad i caught this forum before i posted a new one. I'm looking at getting a MT/r for my truck 33x12.50x15, but i do mostly on highway and pavement driving. i do go offroad, but my concern is how long is the tread-life of the bfg mt and the goodyear mt/r's. If not at least 30,000, how about the bfg at. i think those are some good tires

I got over a year and a half of life out of mine. Just a few notes. They were very good off and on road. Great off road traction in everything except really bad mud. A true mud terrain still works a bit better there because the voids between the tread lugs are larger. X-Terrains will work, just not as easily. They werent very bad noise wise. However, once they started to get worn down pretty good, they did start to get a tad loud, and the ride quality did diminish a good bit. They MUST be rotated regularly. MUST. Also, they did start to get a bit slick on wet roads once they started getting worn down. Overall, a good tire. I have went mack to my old tried and true workhorse BFG MT's and have to say I do like them better. I have been a BFG lover/owner for many years though, so everything else I try gets compared to them. Wife alos has Pro Comp All Terrains on her 4x4 Durango. They also have been very good. I do think though that once they are worn out, we'll be putting BFG AT's on hers too.

Hey all -

Thanks for the great info. I really appreciate it. I actually am a huge BFG fan myself, but again I wanted to try something new. After all this I think I will stick with the BFG MT's or AT's after all.

Ian -

Thanks for the info. Sounds like a pretty good deal, however I am only looking at buying tires right now.

After further investigation I have determined that I may buy the Goodyear MT/R's. The surveys on tirerack.com make it sound as if these tires are as good if not better than the BFG AT's and MT's combined.

None the less I do appreciate all the great info everyone has provided and if anyone else would like to add their $.02 feel free.

just as a side note, 4wheelparts.com own procomp. they will, hands down, have the best price on them. i would be willing to bet if you called, they would easily beat tire rack's price. besides, tire rack's prices aren't that good to start with.
