Subject: Largest size tire for the 5.5" TC lift?
IP: Logged

Message:
I have decided to purchase the TC 5.5 lift and found a great deal on 35" BFG M/T tires. Would 35s work on the 5.5 TC or should I stick with 33s?

Also any ideas on wheels, offset, ETC? I'm thinking about going with the 15" Eagle Alloy series 177 . Should I go with the 15X8 or the 15X10?

Semper Fi guys!

I had the T.C. lift on my 99 Dak. with 33X14.50-15 Mickeys on 15X10 Welds and they rubbed like crazy! 35s will probably fit with a 15X8 in. rim if you don`t do alot of off-roading.

I have a modified tuff country lift and I'm running 33x12.5x15's with no problem on a 15x10 rim. It looks like I have plenty of room for 35's so I've been tempted to try it. I have seen 35's on both a dakota and a durango with the tuff country lift...its just not recommended for off-road use...4wdakota has pictures on his website, me thinks.

If you crank the torsion bars up so that it is 6" you can fit 35's but stick with 8" rims

All those trucks have the 5.5 plus a 3" body, just like I do. The one with 38's never saw offroad use and they had to do alot of trimming just to make those fit. Plus he had alot of trouble with the front suspension. Its not strong enough for 38's. Its really not strong enough for 35's.

Go here and look at the silver Durango and Purple Dakota. They are cranked to 6" and are running 35x 12.50's on 8" rims. It is close and not optimal for offroad but it works.

Also, They make swampers in 34x12.50 if you want a good in between size. (and don't mind the noise)

The purple one WAS mine , and FortWorth4X4 is correct , I never wheeled it , it was just a big truck for the street (please don`t hate me).
Lot`s of trimming , but it sure did look good!

Before I put the 3in body lift on I was running the 33X14.50 Mickeys , and to be honest I had to trim a bunch just to get those to fit w/o rubbing. I didn`t trim a hole lot more to fit the 38s with the b/lift.
