Help me out here guys. I have a 2002 quadcab 4x4 wit 4.7. Today we were going to crank the torsion bars up just a little. We turned both sides two turns. One side was maxed and the other was at half and the truck sits level side to side. Whats up? My buddy says I need to have dodge replace the one side. Is that right? We only got about 1 inch in height. I am going to take it to dodge tomorrow and find out why there is such a difference. Should I make them replace it or can it be fixed or does it need to be fixed? HELP

Well, every torsion bar has a slightly different "memory" to it,this is really normal. The dealer will not replace it as long as there is enough adjustment to set the ride height to FACTORY specs. As a matter of fact, they frown upon using the torsion bars to raise the vehicle!Think about this-if every torsion bar had the same torsional strength,or resistance, why would they need adjustment bolts/levers?

So what do I do? Replace the one torsion bar so I can torsion the front up one more inch? Is it going to hurt anything? HELP You were right... They wont replace it because it is in factory spec.

I know this isn't a real tuff tech question but I thought more people would help me out.

Read the post- "Help on the t-bars guys!" lots of good info. You will have to replace the torsion bar on the weak side to gain more adjustment.

ok, about 1 inch is all you want to get out of your T-bars. If you go any higher than that probably your gonna wearo ut your front end faster. mosre money involved.
