Subject: 2WD lift question

Message:
I have been seeing some pics of your 2wd lifted trucks and I must say they look awsome. I am thinking about doing the same to mine. My question is with the bigger tires how is traction in the snow? I am asking this question because when I put wider tires on my camaro (I know you can't compare it to a dakota) traction sucked because the wider tires laid on top of the snow and I went no where. Now I know the bigger truck tires have a much more aggressive tread than a car tire but i am just wondering. Not looking to go crazy with a lift maybe like 2-3". One more question, with lets say a 31" tall tire how will it affect the trucks performance with a 4.7l 5speed with 3.55's. More interested if it hurts the towing capacity because I'm killing the gear with the bigger tires. Any comments would be appreciated. Thanks Mike

I have the fab 3" and mudterrains 31" , the power stayed the same , the speedo the same , no change from stock . I went to the snow for new years and the truck did really good , I have the mudterains bf goodrich , really suprised on the handling on the snow . In the wet I don't like the traction , I guess the lugs are to big and the traction is not the best .............
