Subject: 2WD Lift Quad Cab V8
IP: Logged

Message:
I have a 2001 Quad Cab 2WD with the 4.7 liter.

I want to do a lift (both suspension and body) BUT I want to keep the stock 16 x 8 rims - I like them for some reason.

SO based on some of the posts that I read - I will NOT be doing the Fabtech 3 inch lift with A arms.

I will definately be doing a 3 inch body lift and am thinking about the 2 inch FabTech spring lift, but I do have questions:

1. Which body lift provides brackets to relo the front AND rear bumpers?

2. I have factory fog lights and want to retain them - is this possible with a body lift?

3. I read that the 2 inch spring lift is only for the v6 and 4 - can I get a 2 inch spring lift for a V8?

4. Finally the inevitable question that everyone asks - what is the biggest tire I can run with the stock rims (16x8) along with the 3 inch body and 2 inch suspension lift?

Thanks
Stacy

1. Performance Accessories (~$165)
2. Yes. Body lift doesn't affect them whatsoever.
3. Not sure.
4. 32 inch tires

the fabtech 2 inch doesn't come in a v8 as far as I know. daystar coil spacers will work. with the 2 inches you get 3 inches of height. the a-arm problem with the spacers is not as bad as people try and make it seem. I ride gas line and power line trails at 30+mph as well as mud quite often and have never had a problem with not haveing enough downward travel. you could always get the 1.5 inch spacers.

I don't know why but the spacers tend to give more lift then advertised. I'm not compaining though.lol

Conig

If I use the daystar coil spacers - do I have to remove the springs (I know I have to remove the shocks!) and can I use the stock wheels???

I have the same truck man! Fabtech makes the 2 inch lift. I have it on my truck. I did 2 inch because I wanted to keep my rims too. They are 16x8. I am going to get the 3 inch body lift in a few days and I am putting on 32's. It should all be done by next week. Email me if you have any questions.(label141@hotmail.com) Go to truckperformance.com. That is where I get all my stuff. They have your lift dude.
