Hi guys, just in the middle of downloading all the short features for our weekly auto tab (I work at a newspaper) I came across this, hope you find it interesting.

Who says four-wheel-drive trucks get to have all the fun? Not Rancho Suspensions. Sure, they’re as hardcore as any aftermarket four-wheel-drive company out there. Now, however, Rancho has parlayed its vast off-road expertise into new 4x2 suspension packages for GM, Ford and Dodge full-size trucks. Rancho two-wheel-drive systems offer the same tough look of a raised 4x4, providing increased ride height and the ability to run larger wheel and tire combinations. Like the 4x4 systems, Rancho’s new two-wheel-drive setups boast a number of exclusive technologies to provide improved handling, ride and durability. No matter the truck, you’ll get four-wheel-drive-inspired, heavy-duty one-piece subframes, specially-tuned springs and CNC-machined spindles to serve up 10 centimetres of lift. Each steel component is either plated or powdercoated in Rancho Red. You’ll also have your choice of the premium self-adjusting RSX or five-speed adjustable RS9000 shock. You can find out much more from Rancho’s Internet site with detailed downloadable installation instructions. Just click your way to gorancho.com or you can give Rancho’s tech line a call 1-800-574-6257.

Hey Lesley - Did you see anything for a 2wd Dakota? I checked out the site and found just the Ram lift. To bad its Sunday or I would call Rancho now.

Thanks so much for the info!

BTW - Do you do design/layout work? I'm a Graphic Designer and I noticed you did some newspaper work! Just curious. :-)

I never actually went to the site (sorry)! On Mondays & Tuesdays I download & layout our weekly "wheel power" feature, so I come across all kinds of auto stuff... thought people would find it interesting. Yeah, I do some design, mostly ad work. The job has changed radically since the days of galley type and large cameras, but I'm pretty happy with my Mac. I used to do a lot of illustration & editorial cartoons, but don't seem to have as much time. I've done a fair bit of magazine illo, and just got offered a book, so I'm trying to keep in shape creatively. Also, last year I started a life drawing class, something I haven't done since college. What kind of design do you do?

Well, right now I am designing ads/flyers and labels for GNC products for sports enthusiates. I also do a lot of drawing and illustrations when I get the chance. Funny, though, I don't like working with Mac's that much, I'm more of a PC guru! I'm in the process now of trying to get in with Chrysler's graphics department to create the brochures for their vehichles (hopefully Dodge). I think that would be a great job for me, designing the Dakota brochures!! ;-) It's just really tough to get my foot in the door.

Other than that, I'm just waiting painfully for my 2002 QC Dak to arrive (Mid Oct)! I know... I don't actually have it yet, but I've been reading this forum for about 6 months now and finally had the money to order one AND lift it w/33's once its in.

In any case, it nice to know there is another designer in the forum who likes/loves the Dakotas! Plus, it sounds like you have a GREAT job dealing with truck stuff! Now if we could just supercharge that V6... hehe. j/k ;-)

Hey congrats on the impending arrival of your Dak!! Mid-October, let the countdown begin. I'm sure you'll love it. I wish you luck with your Chrysler design goals, wouldn't it be a blast to the one designing dak campaigns? Did you see the one last year for the quad cab? Grand Slam:
Slam! Slam! Slam! Slam!
Clever huh?

Yeah, it was! I think it would VERY fun to be the one designing the Dakota campaign. It would also be great to have the employee discount!!

I have a question off-subject and I'm not a member on this site. I own a '93 Dakota 2X4. If any of you know Dakotas, you know this is not an aftermarket friendly truck. I have been searching everywhere for a suspension lift. I've come up with a cheap 2" lift from JC Whitney for $100 and that's about it. If anyone knows of any lift kit for my model and a place to order it that'd be great. My email is DrummerRAY09@hotmail.com. sorry again for taking up this space
