A Craftsmen Truck is a Cup car with a truck body. Only difference is a higher center cage to raise the roof line. Otherwise the two are identical. No relation whatsoever to the vehicles we have, any more than Cup cars are related to what car buyers get. It's just a name.

People who buy trucks to race are homo's.

No, Teamfast, and TnJones. YOU ARE ALL MORONS!! Would you please read my first post again, where it says trucks arent made for racing. Where did i say they arent for racing. The manufacturer will make a truck with alot higher torque than HP for what.......? Oh yeah thats right for pulling power. It gives quite a good jump off the line. And no, with an AUTOMATIC transmission, he will be in 4rth or 5th gear at 60mph. The automatic will shift into a higher gear to keep the rpms down at cruising speeds. If you were to gun it off the line and keep your foot down, then yes you are right hed be in 2nd or 3rd. But HE STARTED AT A CRUISING 60MPH!!! Please read my first post fully and let it sink in a bid before rushing off and posting a reply, i understand certain state's have poor education systems.

I have no argument with your basic premise. I just suggest that anyone who thinks trucks aren't for racing is mistaken and isn't aware of all the many types of motorsports trucks compete in, including street rodding and drag racing (my personal favorites).
BTW Bubba, think about the individual systems on a "Cup Car" as you call it and tell me if they have more in common with my Dak or the Monte Carlo whose bodies most of them carry? Hmmm, full frame, RWD, V8, manual tranny, large diff with big gear and anti slip technology... Doesn't sound like my Granny's 2003 Monte Carlo SS to me, but it does sound like my Dak and a "cup car". Tell you what, you drive Granny's SS and I'll drive my Dak through any race course you wanna name. Who do you think will cross the finish line first?

F'n poor looser is right! The b@stard should have the truck burned to the ground and be forced to drive a Yugo for the rest of his living days.

I'v run into pricks like this and the best thing to do is spank them realy good and find the nearest exit, fill-er up and get a thirst buster.

15 years ago I had a sleeper 350 S-10, only give away was the 295's tucked up under the rear end. Lots of fun spanking Camaro's, Mustang's, Vette's, 300ZX's on the interstate, fast trucks weren't realy "in" back then. Get ahead of them 4-5 car lenghts and then show them what nitrous is for. I only ran into a couple of people that wouldn't leave me along after the whipping, so I would let them cruise down the road while I pulled off to get gas. Most people were pretty nice about it though, big thumbs up (not the middle finger) as they went on by.

Only thing I should say is I would never do this type of thing in the city or with a lot of cars around. It's wreckless enough with 2 cars doing 100+ down the interstate. You don't want to put other peoples lives in danger.

DSW,

My whole point is, if your looking for a race and lose. That person should just be a good sport about the whole thing. And not to try to run the other guy off the road.

Exatctly, but if the azz won't leave you alone the only sane choice is to get as far away from him as possible. Don't get me wrong, I have been in the position, enough to make the blood boil, just haven't had an Ahole try to run me off the road.

Or, how about this, friggin mental case speeding up and slowing down while I am maintaining 75 in the fast lane with the cruise locked, just the time you get past them they speed up, only to slow down again.

Or better yet, your stuck behind a line of slow cars in the fast lane and some guy thinks he's speed racer and is zipping in and out of the fast and slow lanes to get ahead.

Or, I love this one, you make better time in the slow lane because all of the slow people are in the fast lane. I have only experienced this between Las Vegas and LA, What gives?
