Well. Isn't the stampede the new R/T? What's it's performance specs, like weight, hp at what rpm, torque at what rpm, and stuff like that. And why can't I seem to find anything about it on the Dodge site? I can go through and order one but I can't see the specifications.

The STAMPEDE has NO peformance upgrades. The R/T had stiffer suspension, 17"Wheels,LSD, 3"exhaust, 5.9L, 9.25" rear end, and a larger rear sway bar. The Stampede just has cosmedic upgrades. Lowsey cosmedic upgrades at that.

The Stampede kit is just a cosmetic kit that is available for regular V6 or 4.7L V8 trucks. The 03 R/T's that were built in the last half of the year (not all 03's) had the Stampede kit as a standard option from the factory.

NOT,

What do you mean?

"There is no 9.25 axle available for any Dakota except the R/T's."

My 2001 2WD Quad Cab came with the 9.25" LSD differential and 11" drums rather than the 9" drums... Must be an R/T QC!

I hate given away all my secrets, but to settle this debate you all are having I must step in.

COUNT THE BOLTS ON THE REAR END COVER!

That will tell you what rear end you have. It's real simple. I would also like to add that there is no 9.25" rear end listed in the 2004 option sheet at www.dodge.com. Does that mean it can't be had? I don't know. I think all Dakota's that came with the 360 has a 9.25" rear and all the others have 8.25" rears. I may be wrong on that. I've never seen a 5.2, 3.9, 3.7, or 4.7 with a 9.25" rear. I'm pretty sure all the QC's with 5.9L engines had 9.25". So that would make all of you wrong. But, to prove me wrong, go count the number of bolts holding the cover of your rear axle on.

My '01 4.7 2wd cc auto has the 9.25 rear. This option may have been deleted for anything other than the RT after a certain year though.

Whiplash, I think that you have some loose "bolts" and I don't mean on your truck. Your statement is full of "I thinks..". How about forgetting what you think and try to post something factual. My '01 reg cab with a 4.7L and 5 speed has a 9.25" rear axle. So much for your theories on what came on what. Another way to tell what rear axle came on your Dakota is to read the spec sheet that is affixed inside the glove box door.

NONE of you have answered my question.

HOW MANY BOLTS IS HOLDING THE COVER ON YOUR DIFFERENTIAL?

GARY, if you want facts, go count the bolts on your rear end cover. I know how many bolts is on the 7.25", 8.25", and 9.25" rear end covers. You obviously don't.

SO GO COUNT UP. You can count, can't you?

Since no one has come back with an answer I'm assuming that I was right. If I had been wrong, everyone would have jumped at the opportunity to tell me so. Everyone else is scurying around trying to find out how many bolts holds the cover on a 9.25" rear end so they can post a LIE to proove they have a 9.25".

The only Dakotas I've ever seen with the 9.25 also had the 360 engine.

To ALL OF THE SMART ASSES, I want to know myself if there is a 4.7L, 3.9L, or a 3.7L Dakota with a 9.25". I already know the 360's have them. I also already know that there is no 9.25" available for 2004. Why would they stop offering the 9.25 this year when they have always offered it? That makes no sense.

Therefore, everybody claiming to have a 4.7L with a 9.25 rear end, GO COUNT THE BOLTS ON THE REAR!!!

Geeze!!! How F!@king hard is it to count? I want to know. I'm looking very hard for a 4.7L with a 9.25 and I can't find one.
