I just got of the phone with autometer and they told me that there was now way to hook up a after market tach to the 4.7 I was wondering if that really was true. Also has anyone used the dual pillar pod from the durango on the dak after you remove the oh shit bar. Also has anyone hooked up any other guages to the engine such as air fuel mixture guage or oil pressure fuel pressure. Please help anyone.

The A/F is easy...just tap into your forward O2 output wire (at the PCM) and you've got it made. Having it run off of a seperate O2 sensor is better though. Oil Pressure and Fuel pressure are easy as well with the mechanical to electronic conversion (transducers).

On the tach...ya got me there. You're running a distributor-less ignition so there has to be some way...ricers do it...why not us. :)

i know this is a little late but.... for a tach connection you can connect to the + wire on the #1 injector harness

Autometer makes them... find a dealer in your area. I think Pep-Boys and Autozone can order them

You can get an inductive pick-up tach. It will pick up directly off the plug wire, should also work on the wire upstream of your coil pack. No need for a distributor. I used to use them on single cylinder motorcycle engines for racing. Just an idea.
